Graham would have been a smart choice electorally being that he would have been able to help the Democratic ticket carry Florida, a state where the polls seem to indicate that both candidates are 50-50 right now. Graham has strong national security credentials and may have been helpful in the South overall. He would have been a solid candidate. However, Kerry seemed to prefer someone with a bit more charisma and youth.
