I have had my Dell Dimension 4600 for 3+ years and although it now needs to be reformatted and reloaded, I have had no breakdowns of any kind with it. I have run several programs at once and except for being a little slow when I do that, it never froze or glitched up. I am planning on doubling the memory on it (it only has the 512 it came with now) and it should run like a dream machine again. I would recommend it to any but I have to agree with the previous comment on tech support. I called once, got no help, but talked to a very nice young mom in India and we ended up chatting and gave up on the computer issue. I ended resolving it myself.

OK, but customer service sucks. The ignorant "technician" helped me lose ALL of my stuff because she didn't understand English (and it took me a while to understand her accent). This is partly why outsourcing is wrong! I used to have an IBM which had great service. If anything went wrong, they would send someone over immediately to look over it--which is best for those of us still immersed in Dark Ages technology. Alas, those days are probably all but over.
