My Dell Latitude D400 is my main laptop - I use it everyday. It is the perfect size for working on the lap. It's light-weight makes it easy to carry around the house or even to go sit outdoors. The D400 and D410 are better than an ultraportable - because you have a bright and bigger screen and the keyboard is good also. Those two features are worth putting up with an extra 1lb. of weight. The D400 weighs in at 3.7lbs.I like everything about this laptop - from it's size to its sleek performance. I multi-task most of the time, and have had no problems with the D400 keeping up with the workload. It's a nice quiet working machine. It has large air vents along the right hand side, and thus is well ventilated. I bought the laptop used off Ebay and replaced the keyboard and upgraded the memory to the max 2GB and installed Bluetooth. It has two USB ports, a D-Bay connector for optical drives, a firewire port, infrared, VGA-out and serial ports, and a PCMCIA card slot. The hard drive is easy to access and replace. My only complaint is that you can't upgrade the laptop to Windows 7. Otherwise, my D400 has been the perfect laptop for my working everyday life.
