Clearly and simply put, anybody who doesn't like Supertramp is a complete idiot. Progressive rock may not be respected by idiots, but it is highly respected by anybody who's ever picked up or sat down at an instrument. Supertramp music is blues fused with space rock, fused with jazz, fused with classical. No idiot can play it (to do it justice) and no idiot can mock it (with any credibility). And as long as you're not an idiot, the lyrics tell your story with quirky, dark, and artistic flare. The band was better with the '74-'83 lineup, but both the band and Hodgson have respectively shown only flashes of what once was.

After reading the list of some of the artists already included in the RRHOF, I can't imagine why a band like Supertamp has yet to taste that success. How many crappy and meaningless people do they need to let in? I mean, Madonna? Rock and roll? Let's just state this for what it is...a popularity contest. There are many deserving artists that should be in, but as long as corporates have their way, talented bands like Supertramp will never have their just desserts.

I was torn between a three and four star rating, but when I consider the fact that Blondie, the Lovin' Spoonful, and the Righteous Brothers are in, I think Supertramp is at least as deserving. Keep in mind, I have nothing against the groups I just mentioned, especially the Spoonful. But that group really wasn't together for a long period of time. Meanwhile, Supertramp put out good-to-excellent albums for several years. "Even in the Quietest Moments" and "Crime of the Century" were their best. I only liked parts of "Breakfast in America", but they were good parts. "The Logical Song" is really good, and "Long Way Home" is great. I'd like to hear it right now.

Classic Band. Great and simple melodies combined with awesome prog rock sound.....Timeless music. "YES" were a great band but their star is fading likemany other prog rock bands. Supertramp music still lives on.

BUT NO!

A second-tier prog band, which means that they'll never get in. Even if prog were respected, they'd have a very tough time.

greatest band ever. Supertramp music is too good for the mere ROCK label. sells short so to speak. it's nice to acknowledge genius though.

This is one of the worst bands I've ever heard! The singer's voice is unbearable and the songs are very cheesey!

Bad rock at its worst.

Much more worthy than some of their other 70's prog rock peers. Well written song that did'nt go overboard with 20 minute solos and they had lyrics that people could relate to. Breakfast In America is a great album about early adulthood. Surprisingly yes but as someone posted earlier, with Roger Hodgson.

Supertramp? Supertramp is Rodger Hudgson, Roger Hudgson is Supertramp. In 1983 Rodger left the band, Supertramp goes on but they not deserve the name Supertramp, Tramp is enough. With the leaving of Rodger, the Super leaves. Rodger Hodgson's Supertramp needs a place in The Hall.
