Another of the fine classic actors. Unfortunately typecast as a gangster films like "Brother Orchid" and "The Red House" as well as in role in "Soylent Green" show he could act when given the opportunity. He never took himself too seriously and retired to a humble life in retirement. Always a professional. We miss you Eddy!

tvtator said it best! Thats pertty much all that need be said. On a personal note. I am a very stoic person. EGR, in three movies I've seen is the ONLY ONE whose performance has had a powerful emotional effect on me. That is not why I say he's great however. He was just GREAT!

Here is another case of an actor who never really changed character. How he ended up in The 10 Commandments is amazing. He is a memorable character and his performances will be remembered for a long time to come.

His classic roles notwithstanding, who could have done his character in Soylent Green any better?

A superb actor who played more than just gangsters, mobsters and villians. One of the greatest actors of the 20the century. All his character whether good or bad had a lot of depth to them.

A fantastic actor with a distinctive look and charm that he could use to crate a vast array of characters...Little Caesar, Key Largo, House on 92nd Street are among his best......

Great character actor. Splendid performances in "Little Caesar," "Key Largo," "Scarlett Street," "A Slight Case of Murder."

Edward G. Robinson was a great actor. It's a shame he was type cast as a ganster. His performance in Our Vines Have Tender Grapes was outstanding. It is one of my favorite old movies.

His looks and voice – not to mention his many roles as gangsters and other bad guys of the 1930’s – typecast him for all time as the creepy little man with the sneer in his voice. His most famous and successful film role was as Rico in “Little Caesar” way back in 1930. But I will always remember him best for his part as the traitorous Dathan in “The Ten Commandments”. I crack up every time I hear him say to Anne Baxter’s Nefretiri “Ahhh, whada think of your Moses nowwwww!”
