I don't understand why people think they can talk in places like these. The worst one I've encountered recently was a girl who actually answered her cell phone during a movie, and didn't leave the theater.

Loudness is a part of my culture! We talk like we or people around us are deaf. Not very cool, but what can you do - you become a product of your environment!

This is embarrassing, especially if the person sitting next to you or around you is doing the loud talking. Then everyone stares.

I've been known to berate a few at lectures. . .the look on their faces are kind of worth it. . .no one knows how to behave in a group anymore. . .

Hey, at least I wasn't playing my accordian. Seriously, this irritates the hell out of me.

Holy crap people that do this are so irritating. I go to the movies or some play or class or whatever and wouldn't you know there's some teenagers or newlyweds who think they are above the rules the rest of us play by. Now, granted other people talk at these events too, but the groups I mentioned seem to be the worst culprits. I'm 15, but I know when to keep my mouth shut, why can't other people do the same.

I hate it when people do this. It's so distracting, and half the time, they have nothing intelligent to say anyway.
CastleBee 04/11/2005
These people need to be embarrassed big time. If they don't stop, they need to be told to leave. Plain and simple.

What is worse are ringing cell phones!

Disrespectful, annoying and rude. It is very annoying because of the fact that it distracts you and you can't concentrate on the movie or event. Plus it shows that those people who are talking have no respect what so ever for other people especially at church. They must not have much fear of the Lord. Paul in 1Corinthians said that it was a disgrace to talk loudly in church (in a church service.) At the time, Paul was specifically addressing women, but Paul would think exactly the same way no matter what gender did it. It is a long story of why Paul only addressed women. It is not some sexist thing.

If it were up to me I would kill anyone who talks during church. Or anyone who goes to church.

Irish, the accordion is a nice touch, but the last funeral I went to with an accordion player, well . . .let's just say, all h**l broke loose. When the paddy wagon came (no offense) and took away accordion-man, it became peaceful. There's just a time and place for everything.

I remember when I was like 14 or somehting, I went to see the first starwars prequel (episode 1). At the end, when Obi Wan is hanging from that nob, this old hick wearing overalls in front of me says to his wife almost shouting, I know what he's gonna do! He's gonna thing that light saber into his hand! He's gonna think it into his hand. This is another example of how I am continuously dissapointed as some people add to steryotypes of southern stupidity.

I have 5 kids and never took them to anything other than a kiddie movie with a million other screaming kids. Please don't take your kids to a late show or a show for adults. Their crying is rude and upsetting.

Can't say I have observed this in an overtly rude manner in church or at funerals, but I have had some experience with this at movies in the past. It's been quite a few years now that I have stopped going to the movies, and this is one of the reasons.

A co-worker mentioned a very lively funeral in which her drunken sibling sparred with the minister and tried to preach the sermon. She said her brother's hijinks added levity to a sad occasion.
