Well you can't win the Iowa Caucus by being against corn farmers!

On the other hand, his flip-flopping is evidence of a candidate who will say anything to any audience in order to get elected. Check his speeches: he has said one thing to an audience in Detroit (UAW union) about the American vehicles he owned, and then contradicted himself purposely to an Earth Day audience in New Hampshire (I don't own these vehicles; my family does). Is he an intelluctual person? Sure, he is. He is also a manipulative person when it comes to getting his message across to certain audiences. Whether you like Bush or not, there is a great deal more of consistency in his stated views to the American public than Sen. Kerry's.

It's not politicians who change their stands on issues that I distrust: it is those who have so little brain-power that they cannot understand the complexity of an issue, and who are therefore incapable of changing their position later, unable to see anything besides the usual partisan black and white. Kerry has a good mind, and is able to come back to an issue, and has the courage to change his mind after studying it in more depth. Au contraire, his flip-flopping is evidence of intellectual depth and a bravery not seen in any member of the current administration.
