Instead of covering the Swift-Boat Veterans for Truth and the incessant back-and-forth between Bush and Kerry in the run-up to the election, wouldn't it be reasonable to expect that issues like this would be brought to light by an objective press? How much coverage time is spent discussing Bush's National Guard service and Kerry's four months in Vietnam, compared to their track record (and voting records) over the last 10 to 15 years, which would give a clear indication of what to expect from a re-elected President Bush or a theoretical President Kerry?
