To be honest I didn't really get into this series very much because it all looked very fake, but I forced myself to sit through and watch every episode in order and as soon as they got rid of Wesley Crusher (for the most part since he kept coming back every once in a while) I really started to like it. Then by the last part of season 6 I was obsessed with the show...then Wesley came back for the last time and that kind of made me sick to my stomach for a while, but it ended well with Q...I just wish there had been more of a conclusion then there was. 4 out of 5 based on my feelings for the overal show.

The best episodes in this series were the ones with the Borg in, with the exception of my favourite episode, "The Inner Light". In my opinion that single episode is the best episode across any of the Star Trek TV series.

Actually, The Next Generation is the only Star Trek I have seen out of any Star Trek show or movie. I thought it was good. Lame space uniforms but entertaining characters like Q and Data.

This was a really well done program. I'm taking off a star for that season when the writers discovered that they could make every single episode about the holodeck, and they'd still get paid.

You could tell the show was really well tailored for basement-dwelling aspy geeks because of Troi, an alien who's superpower was that she could tell how other people were feeling.

Yes, probably superior to TOS, but hardly surprising so many years after. story lines better, effects better and budget better. Good cast under good scripts. And this program exploded the trek universe.
But i still hanker back to the heady days of TOS.

This is also one of the weakest Star Treks. It has some great episodes, but the atmosphere is more for kiddies.

Great show, the best of the Treks. I love Captain Picard and the most of the crew (don't miss Tasha and I hated Wesley). The story telling started off a bit weak but improved with each season. Great show! 5/5

This show had some great moments. But it also had a few sappy, stilted moments. Condecending and preachy at times. The whole honorable, proud crystal and tree spirit communing Klingon bit got old quick. Q had a shakey start but grew to be a favorite. Also, if Picard is a Frenchman, why does he enjoy English tea so much and why dosen't he smoke cigarettes?

Vastly superior to TOS. After a slow start, from the third season on, everything is strong. Cancelling it at 7 years was a cosmic injustice; this show could still be on the air now.

For its first four years, Star Trek the Next Generation was the greatest. Great acting, awesome costumes and sets, great special effects, and a nice optimistic feel. It's last three seasons were quite uneven as they focused not on exploration--but character pieces. It's last season was particularly slow. It is the fourth best Trek series.
