I think we should deport any foreign national who poses a serious threat to the country. We let to many people in who should not be here any way as it is. Its like they sat Love or leave it.

Deport anyone foreign who threatens the country. Lock anyone up who isn't foreign and threatens the country. The only race I consider is the human race.

Only oldfashioned southern Rednecks think this way. This is such a lazy statement to make without any thought given to any aspect of this subject. NUMBER 1: people are people and to determine if someone is a threat is to look at this persons actions, not skin color. After what just happened in Madrid recently, obviously terrorism doesn't just lie in the Middle East. We can waist too much time trying to make out a profile of what a terrorist looks like. If someone doesn't have a plot to harm a large number of Americans and this would apply to any country, then the government must keep this person so that they can use him or her to figure out were more people in their organization are. It's a really simple concept, you give thought to a matter, and the best solution is found. Only a lazy ignorant idiot would be so careless as to determine if a person is a danger by the way they look, and then if they are a threat, send them to another country and basically let the criminal go free to just try again another day. We have to stop and give these things some thought and quit being so general and lazy about everything. It's got to stop, everything in this life is much more complicated that it seems, we have to realize that.

This is a question that should be more clear. Yes, if non-American middle eastern people threaten the country, then yes. But, we should deport any non-American that threatens, not just Middle Easterns. Deporting just people of Arab descent seems kind of rascist. If a American living here legally threatens the country, they should be arrested, but we couldn't really deport them to anywhere. Final line: We should deport any non-American that threatens the country, regardless of race or background.

Assuming that this category is referring to a vocal, written, or somehow KNOWN threat then, of course we should...but I think it is VERY INAPPROPRIATE to limit this category to people of Middle Eastern descent!! I think we should rid ourselves of people who threaten our country REGARDLESS of where they are from. If we all keep focusing on these Middle Eastern people, we may just get blindsided by terrorists from elsewhere. By the same token, there are people from all over the world who have come here to improve their circumstances, and have become assets to society. Meaness and hate are all around us. There are evil people in every country, including the US, I'm sure, and if threats to our country are made by any of them (from anywhere), I truly believe it should be taken seriously and very strong punishment served to the potential threat!

Though I believe that its almost painfully obvious that anyone from any country or region should face deportation if thy threaten the US, I can't support this. First, the question seems to imply that middle easterners would be targeted more then any other ethnic group. Second, I'm not sure exactly what constitutes a "threat". Is disagreeing with the government a threat? To be in favor of a blanket statement like this makes no sense.

Threaten the country? What exactly does that mean? This is an incredibly stupid question if you ask me. Too many people have jumped to the right, asking to turn in their freedom for supposed safety. Giving Bush's Administration any amount of power is dumb enough, but this? Come on people. The FBI now has the right to spy on anyone they want to through e-mails and pages visited...anyone. It just disgusts me.

That's a no-brainer!!!!! Deport all foreigners who threaten us. In fact, we should stop letting them in here in the first place. They have no right to our country and they will not benefit us with their presence. We are fools to think that letting them in will not cause problems. Write your congressman to tell them that open immigration is a bad idea.

Listen, If anyone that lives here (no matter what race or sex) threatens the safety of this country, they should be arrested and tried in court. Deporation would only give them the fredom to run to any terrorist group they waned to join. BTW, for all the people who are asking how can we tell if someone is threatening the country, it's not that hard to figure out. If they say that they plan on inflicting harm on any U.S. citizen, that's a threat. We're not taling about rallys here.

To the John Ashcroft sheep: Timothy McVeigh bomb the Oklahoma building. John Walker joined a terroist traning camp. What do these boys have in common? They are not Middle Eastern!!! My point is that we should watch out for everyone. To music fan: FDR made me ashamed to be a democrat. What he did was Nazi-like! Without a fair trial, He put innocent families behind bars. These people did not do anything wrong. There also many Italians and German enemies. FDR did not jailed them.....BTW I want to remind you that these Japanese-Americans sacrifice their life defending a country that hated them. Music fan needs to get a clue.

Sure, we need to stop anybody who threatens us, but deporting them is not the best idea. If we can capture them, then we should do so and see if we can learn anything from them. I know two things: (A) not all Middle Eastern people are bad, there could be some misunderstandings, (B) we need to be extra careful...

Deport Middle Eastern people living in the U.S. if they threaten the country 3

This is really a tough question. The salient point is 'if they threaten the country'. We have to assume that a percentage of these individuals are truly evil doers sent here to carry out the mission. 9-11 is proof of that. With that in mind. How do we protect ourselves without trashing a large part of our belief system, Constitution and way of life? To this I say. Our beliefs are strong and our Constitution provided the guidelines for a very solid system of government. Our diverse backgrounds and political isolation ( Atlantic and Pacific Oceans ) became the foundation for a great country. [ by world standards] We however as Americans are soft when it comes to the feelings of others and they way the world looks at us. The Middle East has had enough time to settle their religious issues. For the most part the Middle East, Africa and many of the countries in Asia, do very little for the betterment of mankind. They consume, they polute, they war and they complain about us. Look at America as a nation. We tolerate darn near everything. We represent all of the religions of the world, all of the various ethnic backgrounds, all the bad, the good and all the in between beliefs and cultures that our world can prodice. Yet within our vast borders these groups keep the peace and under LAW and civilized behavior we move forward. We are the model the world needs to learn from. We may be considered 'ugly' Americans to much of the world and granted we are very spoiled and a bit arogant. But you know what, we put a man on the moon using slide rules, we built the twin towers, we fought and died and in all of the modern wars. Not always for economic gain or greed, but to save our planet from evil.Yet they hate us. We fought one of the bloodiest wars in history within our own borders and in four years we settled the issue and once again we were a united country. That sort of resolve comes from blessings, brains and tolerance. Should we deport people who threaten our country? I have little baby girls and at the drop of a hat I can generate whats called the 'look'. Its a signal that tells another person to stand down or suffer 'your fate' My question to adult males in this country is, if a group vowed to kill your children or celebrated the deaths of fellow citizens. Would it be days or seconds before you took action? Now sleep tight.

I believe that deporting Middle Eastern people living in this country if they pose a threat is a bad idea. We want to contain them and keep them here so we can give them a trial and send them to our prisons. By the way, giving the terrorists that we have indicted for the 1st World Trade Center a sentence of death is a bad idea. They want to die the death of a martyr, however skewed their perception of martyrdom may be. They should have to live a long and miserable life in prison doing hard labor. I know I am sidetracking, but I think it needed to be mentioned. We do not want them to go back to their countries so they can establish their terrorist camps. The goal in this War against Terrorism is to contain the threat as much as possible. If we send them back to their homeland, we do not have jurisdiction over these people, and many times the governments of the individual states may be sympathetic to their fanatical cause. But it is not all about national security, that is only part of the equation here. We will be setting a bad precedent by deporting people; discrimination against Arab people will go up if we begin to deport people. A domino effect could occur that could lead to the internment of ALL Arabs. This will obviously be a violation of innocent people's civil liberties and we must be cautious where we step here on this issue. I do not believe that it is fair to paint all Muslims as being anti-American. The rights of people must be considered when dealing with a situation like this.

Deporting these people won't do any good. They need to be held in custody because otherwise they would devise more threatening activity in another country. Deporting people because of paranoia is not a good idea.

Should we deport Middle Eastern people living in the United States if they threaten the country? Only in the United States and only within the last ten years would such an absurd question be asked. YES, OF COURSE, we should deport all Middle Eastern people living in the United States if they threaten our country. I don't think that I need to remind anyone that on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, Arab Muslims declared a holy war on what they refer to as "the great satan". They declared war on the United States of America. Our "politically correct" media did not show the hundreds of Arabs, living here in the U.S., who cheered and celebrated the unprovoked killing of 6,000 men, women, and children by third world monster Arab Muslims who do not value human life that is non-Islam. This is a difficult concept for Americans to understand, but it is a fact. These people are highly organized, well financed, and highly motivated. They have one goal: destroy America. These people are Arab Muslims living all over the world. They are also right here in our country. Our first responsibility is to protect our citizens. These people are aliens, either legal or illegal. They must be deported immediately. We need to deport all aliens who threaten our country. UPDATE: (1) Second Amendment rights apply to citizens of the United States. These people are either invited or uninvited GUESTS in our country. We must adopt a zero tolerance for any foreigner who is a direct or indirect threat to the United States. (2) FDR did what he had to do at the start of World War II. He did not know if the few Japanese people living in the United States would be loyal to America or to Japan. He had a tough call to make, but he made the correct decision based on the facts he had. (3) Discrimination and racial profiling of Arabs would be terrible? Well, when they blow up the entire country and there is no United States, that really won't be an issue for anyone, will it?

I find this option awfully reactionary and reminiscent of the executive order FDR signed in 1942 that uprooted Japenese-Americans from the West Coast and sent them to internment camps where they would not be considered "dangerous." This is akin to racial profiling and will only exacerbate tensions in this country that, in some areas, have reached the flashpoint. How could they "threaten" the country by expending all their collective energy on hating a society that they are living in? Don't you think they wouldn't have come here if they didn't WANT to be here? Maybe it's just possible that your local Qatari, Bahraini, Saudi, Palestinian, Egyptian, Iraqi, etc. who is here is trying to achieve stability for his or her family and is working to put food on the table, just like me and my wife. They're probably so busy trying to just make a living for themselves and their children, they simply may not have the energy to hate. And why would a rational, reasonable person bite the proverbial hand that feeds him/her? Besides, I'd want to have my Middle Eastern neighbor over because I'd be proud to continue the positive American tradition of being open and tolerant of other cultures and nationalities. I'd sure learn a lot from them, not to mention have a lively debate about religion and politics.

No offence but if you're not a native-American you really have no buisness whatsoever answering this question positivaly. The Eauropeans came to America, forced the indians to leave, almost got them extinct through deceases (by accident, but still) and denied them their country, religous beliefs and way of doing things. Ok not all Europeans did this but the ones with power did. So isn't it ironic that the same people who's ancestors did all this are saying that you should deport people who threathen the country which once wasn't even theirs? Can you say hypocrite? Now to the idea in itself... are you mad? This is talking paranoia. Or it depends, they say that verbal insults hurt more than physical pain, they are, in this case, obviously wrong. Why not deport Asian alcoholics, Africans who don't go to school, Eurpeans suffering from HIV/AIDS or Indians smoking pot? If you can go there with one 'race' shouldn't you go there with the others? What separates one man from the other? A burning flag? A party hat? Hollering and cheering while the fireworks go off? Verbal insults, although unpleasant, are not a very strong base to force someone out of the country. If they don't like it, no one is forcing them to stay there. They're free to go home, but for some odd reason they don't. Of course, if they do manage to hurt American citizents, by all means deport them. Just like you'd do nazis, or pro-abortionist's, or pro-lifer's, or rasists, or drugaddicts, or bankrobbers, or alcoholics, or powerplant employees, or hackers, or murderers, or rapist's, or pedophile's, or priests...

In a small town in California, a group of Palestinians living in a house, took their flags and planted them all over the exterior walls of their home for all to see. On the peek of their roof, they had a shredded American Flag w/ the words "America, you deserve what you got!" (in some mid eastern language)under Old Glory. Make a long story short, they were told by the sheriff of that town to take it all down or they would have to leave the country (don't know if he could make them do that or not). I think they should leave anyway.

Deport Middle Eastern people living in the U.S. if they threaten the country 5

There are Middle Eastern students populating the campuses of the United States who have had the gall to stand up and make remarks that the U.S. deserved what happened on September 11th. There were (maybe still are) private training camps in the United States where our ex-military (Navy Seals, Marines, etc.) have trained some of these terrorists in guerrilla warfare. We are told daily on the news that they are detaining and questioning people. But, I think the damage has been done. The doors of this country have been open too wide, for too long and the rules for entry have become too lax. We were lulled to sleep in our prosperity and have been existing in a dreamland. We may be awake now, but many are apparently too groggy to see the dangers that are still within our own borders. These people seem so willing to just yawn and go back to sleep. Well, if we do nod back off we may not have a chance to wake up again. As hard as it may be to fathom, there are people still living within our borders who want to destroy us. Who think of doing so as an act of worship. When they arrived they knew it would be easy once inside to get lost in the crowd. Even more important, they knew they would find people here who were so arrogantly sure of their own safety they would be willing to deny the dangers, or sell out for the almighty dollar, or are simply so complacent they wouldn’t notice until it was too late. We were easy. The sickening thing is I think we still are. YES, by all means - gather up these radical, non-citizens, these foreign “visitors” who come here to be educated, to prosper, to enjoy our freedoms and way of life while at the same time stand up and make hideous remarks about the “rightness” of terrorism and how we are so awful we “had it coming”. By all means and any means relieve them of this burden of being around such horrible “pagan” people and send them, along with anyone else who threatens this land back to their own. And, before anyone gets their civil liberties in a bunch I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE PEACEFUL MUSLIM CITIZENS of this country. But I suppose there’s really no point in saying all of this because it will never happen anyway. No, we’ll just sit here watching TV, worrying about civil rights and law suits, the stock market, talking it to death and trying to avoid stepping on delicate little toes - until another disaster hits. And people wonder why the faithful are praying. UPDATE since original post - Thanks just the same, but I'm pretty sure I understand the definition and virtues of freedom of speech. I know I'm not the only one; most American citizens know exactly what it is and appreciate it. I have relatives going back to the Civil War and farther who fought for those rights too. Even I served four years in the service. My point with the non-American Middle Eastern students is that they are here as GUESTS - of our country - NOT AS CITIZENS. If they cannot behave as proper guests (especially in this time of crisis), they should have no right to remain on our soil and receive an education. Notice, I don't want them beaten up, shot, thrown in jail or a concentration camp - as they would probably do to one of us were we shooting off our mouths in a similar way in one their countries. I simply want them to be expelled and sent home. There is such a thing as free speech and then there is yelling fire in a crowded theater. As far as I'm concerned these students are pushing the envelope at a time when it might be best (even for them) if they kept their mouths shut. I think it is so interesting though that a certain faction of our own population are so worried about how the Muslims are handling this thing (AND I DO NOT ADVOCATE VIOLENCE AGAINST THEM WHATSOEVER) yet, at the same time, are completely intolerant of people who find it hard to take the nasty barbs toward our country by the pampered children of these, rich Middle Eastern people who utilize our colleges. For God's sake: thousands of people just died and the ONLY thing the terrorists are sorry about is that they didn't kill more of us. They don't want us to change our policies or our religion or anything else - THEY SIMPLY WANT US DEAD. And, these terrorists were (and still are) living among us. Sure we don't know if the students are actually threatening - most of them probably aren't - but we don't really KNOW that either, do we? It's the quiet people who have the ability to assimilate themselves you obviously have to worry about most. Sorry, try as I might, I just don't see any reason to allow non-citizens who obviously harbor a deep hatred for us to remain in a place where they are willing to spend their time and energy creating even more hate and discontent.

Whether we like it or not, people in the United States are allowed to say what they want and think what they want - even if the things being said are despicable to you. Many of us have relatives who died protecting this right. I'm all for stopping the bad guys from doing bad things in the future - but how can you know? How do you know if a Middle Eastern student who stands up at rally and says that the 9/11 acts are punishment for US committed atrocities is a threat to the US? How can you know if an American who says the same thing is a threat? You can't know. Until there is concrete proof indicating a plot to do wrong, that person is untouchable. Freedom of speech, innocent until proven guilty - these are things that I am not ready to sacrifice in the name of 9/11.

How do we know if they threaten the country? Huh? Huh? That is discrimination, and we should all know it! Does that mean we shouldn't get rid of Americans who REALLY threaten the country (e.g. Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson) because they are Americans? That is very, very low, and it is also heading in bin Laden's direction. We Americans should avoid hateful acts. Put yourselves in the place of Middle Eastern citizens. Remember how much loosing those people hurt? Well, think of the family members they would lose if we do some things suggested on this list. Try not to hate. Take care, everyone.

Simply deporting them will not help. They can still find some way to attack us, if they really wanted to. Personally, I think ANYONE who threatens the United States should be locked up in prison or executed.
