The main reason, excuse or exaggerated lie we went into Iraq were WMDs. Every one of his speeches included WMDs so, in essence he has lied from the beginning. I don't and most logical thinkers don't know what to believe from this man. He tries to turn things around by saying "well...we eliminated an evil person". Well, there are evil leaders all over the world so, maybe we should go into those countries and rid those citizens of their plights also...NOT!!

I am currently writing to Fox News and other networks about this exact subject. I have 7 different links that say we have found WMD's and then Bush says we haven't found any WMD's. I would like to know what the link is to get this Bush flip flop about we have found and then we haven't found WMD's. I would like this in order to have proof to show to the major networks.

Hey, dubyaphiles, still waiting. . .all the bodies in the world or the flag-waving won't make this lie go away. . .

The entire misadventure in Iraq was started by this lie.

Way, way back when this was used as justification for the war, it's all you heard about. I think Bush and co. wanted so badly for there to be WMDs that they preemptively claimed to have found them and hoped that circumstances would soon vindicate their rash claims. Maybe Bush is becoming like Reagan, confusing imagination with reality. They also found that mobile weather station and tried to use it as proof of massive weapons programs, but that didn't fool anyone for very long. Funny, you don't hear anything about WMDs anymore. For awhile it entered our collective lexicon and it was all you heard from the talking heads on tv, but I haven't heard anyone use the term in months. Don't blame Bush for this. He is an incompetent surrounded by incompetents, and he only says the things that he is told to say.

I have to admit that I felt a little betrayed by this. True, his information was based on what was given to him at the time. But he was so insistent when he first said that there were weapons, then when he said there were none found, he wasn't apologetic about his previously-made statements. This is such a confusing issue and I felt pretty manipulated when he announced the truth.

His statements are based on intelligence supports, not changing his mind or flip-flopping his views for the purpose of getting votes.

The only thing that surprises me about this is that the Bush/Cheney regime hasn't been able to get the WMDs to Iraq yet. I suppose they realize that they are being watched too closely to pull it off.
