Well George, what do you spend your time on? Do you run to Daddy for advice. Frankly, I think his Mother is smarter.

Bin Laden was never mentioned in the Republican conventions. He doesn't think about Bin Laden because he doesn't want us to think about him. We defeated Hussein, and that's all that matters.

Mind you that these remarks were each made within a six month period. How can Bush say he wants Osama dead or alive and wanted Osama to receive the ultimate punishment for his crimes, and then in the midst of the retaliatory invasion of Afghanistan say that he does not spend that much time on him... and is truly not that concerned about him. Seems to be a dramatic change in the principle objective over such a short period. Don't get me wrong- I'm not blaming Bush for the failure to locate Bin Laden. However, our objective, which is to bring those that attacked us on September 11, 2001 to justice should not change.

DickD, there have been updates on our search for Osama. At one point, it was believed the US and Pakistanis had him boxed in a 20-mile radius. No, we haven't caught him yet. My friends in the Army tell me that the caves in Afghanistan and Pakistan are about the most difficult places in the world to find anyone. It's a difficult task for our military, to say the least. Are you suggesting that Sen. Kerry, if elected, would have more success at tracking Osama down? Maybe if Gore were president now instead of Bush we would have already caught him? Don't underestimate the difficult times that Bush inherited when he took this job. 9/11, regardless of the political football that the Democrats predictably turned it into, was not preventable. Bush, Gore, Clinton-whoever may have been the president in 2001-was going to have deal with this tragedy that had been in the planning stages dating to the first term of the Clinton presidency. The recession began in 2000. Bush has had more difficult circumstances to deal with than any first-term president since Reagan in '80 and FDR in '33. He has done an admireable job as our president but, admittedly, there is a good chance that some of the tough decisions he has made, along with an incredibly biased print and television media, will cost him his re-election bid in November.

You have taken that statement out of context. Bush wants Osama dead or alive in order to try him for the crimes he has committed against our country. His statement, Iam not concerned... was referring to Osama as a continuing threat against this country.
