Bush promises to commit $1 Trillion of budget surplus to debt reduction (Oct. 2000), but the debt has grown by over $1 Trillion since he took office.
"...The most important thing is for us is to find Osama Bin Laden" (Sept. 2001); "I don't know where he is. It's not that important. It's not our priority" (Mar. 2002)
"...If this were a spending contest, I would lose" (Comparing himself against Gore), yet nondefense spending under Bush has grown twice as fast as under Clinton, and Bush has not vetoed ONE single spending bill since he took office.
