 | Redoedo (39) 06/20/2004 | Many members of the administration repeatedly said that it was impossible to distingush between Saddam and Al Queda (implying that they were one in the same). Vice President Cheney himself alleged that Saddam was DIRECTLY involved in the attacks of September 11, 2001, meaning that he co-conspired with Bin Laden and company and orchestrated the attack. Now, the President is simply saying that there were links. That is quite different than alleging that the man was directly involved in the terrorist attacks that kicked 3,000 people. This may not be a flip-flop, but the rhetoric spewed by the administration leading up to the war and the simple there were levels of communication between the two are a clear indication of the exaggeration on the Bush Administration's part. Saddam was NOT directly involved in 9/11, and thus it was wrong to imply that Saddam and Al Queda were one in the same.
