The only reason this is not a ONE is for the hot blond they have for a tech. Otherwise this would get the same rating as all the other CSI's.

I'll be up-front and admit that I can't really rate it fairly, because I'm unable to sit through more than 1 or 2 minutes of it. Re-runs of it are ubiquitous on late-night cable TV, and every time I come across it while channel-surfing, the camera is invariably focused in an unflattering close-up on David Caruso's aging, emotionless Howdy-Doody face, his monotone voice having all the passion of the computer HAL from "2001 A Space Odyssey". Caruso's "associates"(unlike Caruso, the actors playing these roles physically resemble fashion models...well, mannequins, maybe...) share his emotional flatness, the wooden quality that I guess is supposed to convey serious intensity and dedication, and none of it makes for enthralling drama, not based on the portions of the show I've seen (maybe the show improves markedly after I turn the channel to "The Daily Show" or "Ice-Road Truckers" or "Survivorman"...then again, maybe not). Again, it's not a fair assessment of the show, but I've always written Caruso off as a pompous a**hole who got his well-earned comeuppance, but even watching him eat Humble Pie on an even duller (if more picturesque) TV-series than he started out on has no special attraction for me. Then again, I wasn't interested in watching him when he was a bit player in Stallone's right-wing wet dream "Rambo", or later when he appeared on "NYPD Blue" nursing his ultimately empty dreams of motion-picture glory.

Totally fake, as far from real police work as it can be!
