Very creepy moment: "My name is Talking Tina and I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!" :D

I believe this was one of the later episodes, when the show was slowly but inevitably starting to go downhill, but it still packs a real wallop. Telly Savalas is excellent, and I must admit that's somewhat surprising to me, as I'll always, perhaps unfairly, have him pegged as Kojak. His character is thoroughly unlikeable, and yet in just a half hour, Savalas is able to invest the character with a complexity and depth that actually has us feeling sorry for him by the end of the episode. And that 5 and 10 cent doll with the Rocky-and-Bullwinkle voice is absolutely terrifying.

First episode I ever saw, which is probably a good thing because this 5 star offering helped get me hooked to the series. The kicker here is that Erich thinks he has control over the doll in the beginning, but by the end he is begging it to shut up. A lot of nice, back-and-forth action as Erich and Tina seem to be playing a game of one-upmanship almost, with Tina getting the last laugh at the end.

Telly Savalas was thoroughly convincing as a step-father who needed to be killed.

I know that the episode is a classic and is good but I can't help being scared of Talking Tina and I had nightmares! Sounds silly. Huh? Mabye she was Chuckie's mom. LOL

Telly Savalas' character was so repulsive, you had to root for Talking Tina to terrorize him. You go girl!

First time I seen this episode I had to go in my room and shake all my dolls to make sure they weren't alive...was that the point in which I hated dolls? Maybe...

before there was Chuckie, there was Talkie Tina. A mom buys a doll for her daughter. her new husband resents having his money spent on this doll. he is very nasty about it, upsetting the daughter and mother. when left alone with the doll she tells him that she does not like him. at first he think is one of those pull string dolls or there is trickery to it. he tries to get rid of it by putting it in a trash can. somehow the doll gets out at keeps telling him she hates him and even calls him with a death threat. when he tries to tell his wife about this she thinks he is crazy and plans on leaving with the child. when the man tries to go down the stairs, he trips on the doll and falls to his death. the last thing we see is Talky Tina saying to the motherI'm Talky tina and you better be nice to me

Certainly a memorable episode; I for one sympathized with Savalas when he attempted to utilize a chainsaw to shut her up for good...if you liked this particular episode, you may wanna check out the film The Bad Seed which has a similiar sort of feel to it.

A masterful script is done justice by a solid cast and good direction. This episode is ten times more chilling than any Chuckie movie. As they did so often, the Twilight Zone boys did more with less.

Talking Tina is one mean little Beyotch. But maybe Telly Savales had it coming to him (It's amazing to see how people smoked on TV back then). Night Gallery did a spin on it; but instead of the doll talking back, it showed it's fangs. If Talking Tina and that crazy doll that chased Karen Black around in Trilogy of Terror ever had kids, that would be some mean-assed dolls.
