Outstanding acting, and a brilliant script that features several clever twists and turns. I like how this plays one one's assumptions. Everything I assumed about what was going on in this episode ended up being wrong, but it didn't happen all at once. Since it goes from 3 astronauts to 2 to 1 and then finally none, it kept me constantly guessing. Nice work.

A tight, eerie piece of work, which raises numerous conundrums for the viewer. Not the least of which is whether the entire story is a figment of the main character's imagination.

Like many of the best TZ episodes this one fed on fear of the umknown. At the time (late 50s/early 60s) they knew nothing of what might happen to humans in outer space. As I recall Rod Taylor returns from a space flight to find that the other two astronauts who went along with him no longer exist.. and apparently never did. The assumption is that he went through some sort of time warp/parallel universe sort of thing. Great episode.
