"The Night Of The Meek" 1

Boring, Old, Drunken Santa Clause. Horrible. Not even like a twilightzone.

"The Night Of The Meek" 4

Art Carney is wonderful as a drunk department Santa who is despondent at how some people's Chritmas's will be. He has seen a lot of life and knows that not all children will get anything for Christmas, some people have very tough lives and Christmas will be nothing for them. he is a good man and grieves for people, He hears a funny sound a cat jumps from the trash cans and there is a big bag when he opens them there are gifts inside. over the next couple of hours anything anyone asks for magically comes from the bag.He runs into an officer who thinks the gifts are stolen and takes him to the police station, the dept, store manager appears{the one santa worked for} and takes the bag but all that comes out of it is trash and a cat. He tells santa if you are so magical i want a sherry brandy and it appears.Art CarneySanta gets out of the police station and continues to hand out presents until midnight and then the magic stops and an old man {played by wonderful character actor Burt Muston}says what do YOU want? and he replies I wish I could be Santa every year. right away an elf appears calls him Santa. and off they go in the sleigh.pretty good episode.  Art Carney is good. a few of the extras are horrible actors. the only bad part of this episode.

"The Night Of The Meek" 3

The only thing that I never liked about this episode was the videotape instead of the film. It looks very flat and fake compared to the episodes that were filmed. It is actually distracting enough for me take away a star.

The concept and acting are great. Carney and Fielder were great actors.

"The Night Of The Meek" 4

This is classic TZ writing: an ending that's touching without being sappy, and there were several episodes that pulled off this difficult and impressive feat. Worth a view during the holidays.

Sentimental and rather touching, this is a pleasant little story. Nice Christmas viewing.
