Jack in the box scene is classic--referenced in a Simpsons Halloween episode! :D

I don't want to sound violent but someone should have snuck up behind that kid and put an end to him before he turned that guy into a jack in the box. Great episode though

VERY creepy jack-in-the-box scene--somehow just seeing the shadow makes it that much scarier!!!

A classic among classics. Billy Mumy had the perfect face for this part too - he could look like a perfect darling one minute and a spooky little storm cloud the next. Very expressive little actor with an excellent voice. The story is creepy times 10 and one that you never forget. It's also darkly humorous in parts and very rewatchable. The really scary part is that some 40+ years later, the Anthonys of the world appear to be multiplying.

A standout episode. Entertaining to watch all of these adults terrified by this seemingly sweet at first glance six year old. At first I wondered why they would give all of these powers to a kid and not an adult, but then it hit me: a child is more likely to be hastier than an adult, and thus more likely to, say put someone in a cornfield, after being even slightly irritated than an adult would. A couple of very minor flaws in that "it's a good thing" is uttered too much and we never really get to see the cornfield (unless you count the end credits), but it still makes for a great episode. 2nd great TZ performance in a row for Billy Mumy

This was another one of the standout episodes that was so memorable to the viewers that they re-did it for the TZ Movie that featured Scatman Crothers, Vic Morrow, etc.

I wish that in the end somebody would have killed the nasty little bastard. And what was with The cornfield was the cornfield a part of land that was still radio active. The whole jack-in-the-box part was really freaky. And how many freakin' times can they have someone say It's good, real good that you did that. I think that I'd rather be dead thank live there with that evil creature. And if someone can't stop little Antony then when he grows up there will be no noe living in that town. I was so scared the night after I saw it I couldn't get to sleep. The story wasn't as good as the others because the others make you get a larger understanding of people this was reduced to a mear horror story.

Classic Twilight Zone because it was so terrifying. The idea of someone being able to read your mind is one thing, but when it's a kid with ultimate power, well, you can see how it would drive people crazy.

One of the more memorable episodes. A young Billy Mumy gives one of his best performances and the supporting cast of character actors do a great job as well.

Excellent episode, and while I agree with Enkidu's comparison with the original short story, it remains among the best of the series, and a strong contender for the top spot.

A superb episode, but I subtract a star only because it doesn't quite come up to the level of the original Jerome Bixby story, which is one of the finest science-fiction shorts ever put on paper. and then he turned him into an awful Thing and buried him deep, deep in the cornfield. More or less. Gives me chills just remembering it.

This was excellent - probably the best thing Billy Mumy ever did on television. The most frightening moment was when he turned a man into a jack-in-the-box. But strangely enough, when I was a child and saw this the first time, the person I felt afraid of was John Larch, the father. I still don't know why.

One of my favorites. Scary and disturbing. When the Lost and Space kid turns dude into a Jack in the Box, I freaked out. The silhouette of the dude's bobbing Jack-in-the-Box Head must have cost about 10 bucks to develop. But its visceral effect is scarier than today's horror flicks which may spend millions on Fx without the same chilling result.

Probably one of the more well known episodes. Billy Mumy is good as the six year old Anthony who can control what ever happens all around him with his mind.He is NOT a nice child and any one who ticks him off can be wished into the cornfield or worse. the whole town {what is left of them} are frightened of him because they know what he is capable of doing to them.A great episode that shows even cute little boys can be a problem in the Twilight Zone.
