Another example of why the 5th season wasn't totally awful. The writer was able to do so much with so little dialouge - pure brilliance. I believe in addition to this being a short French film, it was also an episode of Alfred Hitchcock presents, another fine series of the time.

Excellent, and based on the equally superb story by Ambrose Bierce (if you haven't read it, do). I seem to remember this episode won an award at Cannes.

The only episode that was not written, directed or shot by Serling's production company, this short French film is very powerful, particularly since it is almost (except for about ten lines) silent. It later won an Oscar.
