The best in Memphis is an understatment! I wont let anyone else in Memphis touch my skin! Kevin and Shannon are the two most down to earth tattoo artists I've ever met. When you walk in their shop your not confronted by pretentious, trendy, "L.A. Ink" kids that act annoyed that they even have to talk to you like most of the other shops I've been to. Shannon does all my work, but older brother Kevin is the only other person I would trust to do any work on me.Yes the wait is long (somewhere around 8 to 10 months last I checked) and yes the price is not cheap ($150 per hour) but well worth the wait! I agree with the reviewer that said "If you want a tat go anywhere else in Memphis. If you want a piece of art go to Rameses".Once you go Rameses you never go back!

I have personally had work done by Underground and most recently Ramesses Shadow. Both great places, but if you want original Art Work, Ramesses Shadow is the place. Both Artists are phenominal! Shannon has done all my work and I have lots more lined up. Kevin has recieved a few of my referals as well and does excellent work as well. Keep in mind, these guys are ARTISTS! Sure they'll take your money for some flash work, but to get them to do custom work, these guys 'light up'! Like I said they are true artists. Nothing good is cheap, and these guys aren't, $150 is not bad for the work they provide. The wait for work is well worth it! They are in a fairly obscure location but suits the brothers well (Pinch District, between the Pyramid and St. Jude). Don't waste your time looking around Memphis for better artists, these guys are the shit! Bar none! They have their own style but can modify it based on the customer's needs. Kevin has a new age flare and Shannon (whom I use) has a realists flare. Neither one has tattoos so don't ask to see theirs, but they both know what the needle feels like on most if not all parts of the body so they can warn you about the pain factor. No 'flash' in their place, portfolio's and art, they are ARTISTS!!!

Great skill and talents, awesome guys, Long Wait-- 8 months, only open 4-10 not during the daytime hours, pricy $150 an hour without tip but worth the money if you can wait a while to get an appointment.

Great artist skills with 100% custom designs. Incrediable lines and colors. Kevin is just awesome. Both Kevin and Shannon do new, coverups, extention, ect TATs-- Great T-shirt designs as well. Cons: Very Pricy-- $150 an hour and LONG LONG wait-- almost 10 month waiting list!!! If you have the jack$$ and Time, then you can get the best in downtown Memphis.

Kevin and Shannon are the new generation of skills sets of a tattoo artist. They take the skill--both artistic and needle surgeon like skills, to a new level. 100% custom collaberation with clients. Shannon was amazing on my piece--design/communication/application/final results-- the Best of the Best. Watch Kevin's equally impressive skills on a coverup of two bad tattoos that looked Amazing. Fly to Memphis for the Best! Well worth the wait!

The best in Memphis and Midsouth, maybe one of the best nationally. Others are good, Shannon and Kevin Johnson are great in elite status. 100% Custom designer art!

The best artistist skills of a tattoo artist around! Hands down. Shannon (Kevin and Shannon are sole owners for 15 yrs of Ramesses), he is one of the nicest people you meet. There is a reason all the big dogs who want the BEST in everything, go to Shannon and Kevin for their pieces-- it is simply CUSTOM ART ON A SKIN CANVAS!

Amazing art work. Original, one of a kind. I was fortunate enough to have been the canvis for Kevin's talent before the damand was so high. He will never duplicate your work on anyone else. There is an eternal bond between a tattoo artist and his subject. Kevin honors this bond. On another note, Kevin and Shannon's work with the City of Memphis Gang Task Force has helped debunk some of the typical stereotypes placed on Tattoo Parlors and individuals who sport the art. Love you Guys!!!!! Shea Dowden-Jacome, Memphis, TN

Best tattoo shop in Memphis, hands down. If you want a Tat, go somewhere else. If you want a piece of art, go see Kevin and Shannon.
