 | lauren33 (0) 11/16/2003 | When i bought this album, i had heard how much it was like his older stuff and how much everyone liked it, so I was expecting something akin to Captain Fantastic or Goodbye Yellow brick road. Unfortunately, I think those days are gone. His music is never going to be like that again, and I hate that. However, this is a great album and has some great musical efforts by both Bernie and Elton. It is certainly a great punch to remind us how he was in his 70s heyday.

 | john davies (2) 02/17/2002 | Widely considered Elton's best since his 70's heyday,and certainly his strongest offering for over a decade.I Want Love was a recent top 10 hit in Britain,but there are several stronger tracks;the haunting American Triangle,the elegiac This Train Don't Stop,the pulsating Wasteland,the tender Ballad of the Boy in the Red Shoes,and the lovely Original Sin.Although it's at least a couple of tracks away from classic status,it's undoubtedly a significant return to form(as well as in part to his roots),and should cheer most fans.

 | fanofgkp (0) 12/17/2001 | I'm glad that Elton's last album before retirement was one that sounded most like the works that made him famous in the first place. You have to love that old piano, and Bernie Taupin's amazing lyrics.
