I think that Dick might be stepping down within the first 2 years in office during this new term.

tboneya- You've said it best! Are we to believe that Dick Cheney would be foolish and dumb enough to do something like this? On the contrary, Cheney would only think of the reprecussions of something like this being discovered! In any case, we are certainly living in a paranoid soceity if we give something like this ANY level of credibility.

Dick Cheney seems calculating enough to pull this off. He scares me--he seems like a combination of Dr. Strangelove and Hannibal Lecter. UPDATE: Ok ,tboneya, I'll think about what you said, but I gotta be honest, Cheney scares me! Yikes!

I think Cheney is comfortable with being the most influential Vice President in the history of the United States. It's a lot easier to operate behind the scenes than right square in the public eye.

Dick Cheney is already the head sell-out of America, Bush was picked (by the Vulcans) as just a figure head so all the stupid nascar-dads would blindly follow him anywhere, like the pied-pipper leading all the little children to their death. Americans really are ignorant, bloody fools.

Thoughtful suggestion. Keep thinking.

Yes this is very far fetched indeed. Even if Bush were to have an intense disagreement with his vice president would it ever come to this. I suppose Kerry would also be a target of Dick Cheney's, especially if he's well ahead in the polls and sees him as a threat. As much as some anti-Bush partisans will insist, this country has not become a banana republic with a new coup everyday. Cheney is more than content being the most powerful vice-president in history. He prefers to work outside the limelight, a quality that is not very desirable in the modern presidency. In fact, being that the focus is on transparency in government today, Cheney has turned out to be very controversial. Everything from the events leading up the start of the Iraq war to his energy task force remain shrowded in a fog. But I don't think that Cheney is going to do something so egregious, it's not his style to be so upfront.

Not so unlikely at that.

Is this going to be Michael Moore's next movie? It's a preposterous enough suggestion to qualify.
