A lot of the grizz reviewers, the neo Nazis, whackos, etc ..and many others leave only a handful of reviews on one category...Too bad Rate it All isn't advertised on tv and doesn't come in book formats, 'cause then we could get one of the longtime reviewers, say irishgit or genghis to say- with a pipe and a smoking jacket in front of a cozy fireplace- something like this:

04/02/2003 | Immaturity from some raters aside, I have enjoyed this feature of Rate-it-all. It's interesting to see other posts left by specific individuala; it can give insight to the person's preferences, which can influence every post they make. I've found many people who leave posts that I disagree with also leave posts that I do agree with; it allows me to appreciate all points of views much better. Yeah, getting rated "unhelpful" by immature people who haven't even read all your posts is annoying, but I figure it's not a popularity contest, if people are going to respect your views, they're not going to care what the helpfulness rating is.

02/09/2003 | This is a pretty useful feature because I love reading reviews from certain people. The downside is that some people are immature and may mark each review that one person writes "Not Helpful" because that person said something that the other person didn't agree with. I've noticed that has happened to me already.

08/31/2002 | I usually like reading comments from other readers. A lot of them are good and interesting. I would like to know if anyone else has been having problems with this site. For almost a week I have not been able to vote the yes/no feature. I tried writing to the owners of RATEITALL with no luck. I can write comments and write to other posters personally. Is anyone else having a probem voting or anything else.? I must say I have noticed some odd things going on this week besides the yes/no votes. I imagine most notice what i am referring to. Too bad this was a nice place to visit. I am hoping all the problems will be cleared up. I would really like to know if anyone besides me is unable to vote.

08/29/2002 | Maybe the abuses some of you are worried about could be taken care of if RateItAll would just eliminate the "helpful" buttons altogether. After all, we should be rating ideas, products, and organizations, not each other. That way, we could still read each other's comments, but nobody would be able to make it appear that his/her comments are receiving undue support. (just a suggestion)

03/21/2002 | I think this could have its good and bad sides. The positive aspect is that I can read all of a person's messages and see what that person is like. The negative aspect is that someone can go rating all of my comments as "not helpful" just because I don't like their favorite TV show or I like their favorite singer or whatever. Some people are just too immature.

01/21/2002 | the abilityu to search and find the submissions of another user allows for the sense of community to be built -- and not having such capability is likely why so much of the postings are going on 2 years old ..... no one feature could be more important than this.

09/06/2001 | This has been a great feature which Rate-It-All has recently added. I really enjoy reading people's comments that I find interesting. It is very convienent to just click the user name and find out exactly what he/she thinks about several issues and any other topics they may have on their mind. It is just plain interesting to see what people like and dislike and what makes them tick. That is why I like reading all of peoples comments at the same time.

Then I want to find out if the commenter has written other interesting comments that helps uplifting the overall quality of Rate It All. I want to help Rate It All & also the commenters who write great comments on the site by rating their comments helpful! This is my main view, but of course it's also satisfying to see that you're not alone having special points of view on different subjects. Sometimes I can feel that I'm the only one here with a social conscience that include other parts of the world than only the rich, western part of the world. Then it so great to get to know that there are other people out there that think in the same way as you do! :-))

06/07/2001 | I love this capability...lets me see who I really agree with and who I think needs a little remedial work! LOL! Seriously, this capability allows me to mark the people who leave REALLY insightful comments as helpful easily...so maybe we can get the top 100 reviewer list moving! Couple it with the new ability to send the person a personal Attaboy!, and WOW, that is powerful. It would be nice to be able to get a quick list of people who think "like me" on some subjects, so I could compare their thoughts on others!

01/14/2001 | Sometimes there are a lot of people writing on certain topics. You can't go to the end unless you choose 20 at a time. There are certain ones you liked and they are usually at the end but you cant get to them quickly.

11/09/2000 | Overall, I think it would be an excellent idea for RateItAll to add the ability to read all of the comments left by another user. It's great to find someone else who has similar taste in books or movies, for example, and get suggestions. Entertainment value would definitely be added to the site, too. Sometimes I'll read an absolutely outrageous comment, and I'll wonder what other crazy things that person said. With this feature, I'd be able to see if he/she left any other equally outrageous remarks on the site. (I have a lot of free time on my hands.) I do see PoorOldEdgarDerby's friend's point, though. There's something slightly creepy about people reading all of your comments. I'm willing to get over that because I think the feature would add a lot of value to the site.

10/31/2000 | I think this would be really useful and a lot of fun too if you found a particular person whose comments you enjoyed you could just click on their username or whatever and find out what else they have to say. However, I was speaking with a friend of mine the other day and I was saying just this, "how cool it would be if you could read all the comments by someone else" etc, and she thought it was really creepy and sort of stalkeresque. I said "what you don't read certain books because they're written by a particular author, watch particular commentators because you think they're funny or insightful, never had a pen pal?? mmhhh mmhhh??" For some reason she didn't really appreciate my enthusiasm.

I would love to be able to tell some of the consistently idiotic people out there to not waste their time (and mine) by leaving crappy comments, OR WRITING IN ALL CAPS, and I would also like to be able to check out what quality reviewers have to see about lots of different things. I think this will go along way towards allowing users to build reputations on this site.
