very overrated coach. besides all the injuries, he does not get the players he has available, prepared for games. I think he deserves one more year with all his players. Then, No Tourney, No more Amaker.

Greetings from Seton Hall. Glad you guys took him off our hands. Our team is just now recovering from what Tommy did to us - and I don't mean leaving us. He recruited a bunch of superstars who couldn't play team ball. Just like I watched tonight vs. MI St. You guys should get rid of him!

Did a good job at Seton Hall but hasnt brought Michigan back into the limelight. This is a good job and he's a Coach K guy so you expect big things (like Mike Brey), but not all Duke guys span out - Bob Bender , or fall somewhere in the middle - Quin Snyder, David Henderson.

Tommy is a good young coach and it will be just a matter of time before before he returns Michigan to the Upper Level of the NCAA.

I'm pretty excited to see what Tommy Amaker can do at Michigan. What a great hire for the Wolverines. With Seton Hall, Amaker proved himself to be a solid coach and a top recruiter. Anyone who can bring the nations #1 recruiting class to Seton Hall should be able to work wonders at Michigan. Early reports (as I write this, he hasn't even officially been announced as Michigan's coach yet) indicate that the current Wolverine players and recruits are reacting really positively to Amaker's hiring, which is great news, and that some of the Seton Hall recruits (7' center Chris Charles in particular) may follow Amaker to Ann Arbor. Let's hope Amaker can live up to all the expectations... Battling Tom Izzo for control of in-state recruiting will be no easy task.

Amaker is the best young coach in the nation. He learned at one of the best programs in the nation, coaching for many years under Coach K at Duke and waiting several years for the right head coaching opportunity. He also started for four years as the Duke point guard. Plus, he is young enough that many of his players remember him as a player and can relate to him. Unfortunately (at least for us Seton Hall fans), his name is mentioned every time a big-name coaching position opens up. That's the price of great success. As a Seton Hall fan, I hope that he stays with the Pirates for the long haul. Even if he doesn't, his presence has returned the team to national prominance.
