Update: Chapelle remains the funniest guy alive in my opinion, and Men in Tights is still great. One of my favorite bits from the movie was how the Sheriff of Rottingham's mole switched places on his face in every new scene. 12/19/2002 - A great comedy and does a great job as a spoof. Cary Elwes is a great comic actor, and Dave Chapelle is the funniest guy alive.

Men in Tights is right up there with Spaceballs as one of Mel Brooks' best movies. This Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves parody is one of my favorites. There's Ahchoo, son of Asneeze with his pump up shoes, Robin's fight with Little John to cross a stream you could step across, and the bumbling sherriff of Rottingham who can't say anything correctly.

I'm a big Mel Brooks fan. This was his first miss in a long series of funny movies. It does have some good moments. Just too few to be a good one.

If you love satire, this is Mel Brooks at his best. From the opening credits to the ending credits, you will laugh. Leave us alone, Mel Brooks!! An excellent movie.

I like goofy comedies, so naturally this one ranks pretty high for me. Gotta love the musical numbers and the dancing. Very fun movie.

This is one of my favorite comedies of all time. I love this movie. I love every Robin Hood Movie. He has been my hero since I was like 3 years old. Robin Hood is so cool.

One of the worst comedies ever, but Cary Elwes is so hot that I could careless !

Like "The Naked Gun", your opinion of this movie really depends on how much tolerance you have for stupidty. Sometimes, plain stupidity just makes for great comedy, and this is no different. This hilarious version of Robin Hood was great to watch, and had a lot of funny parts, espescially the blind man chopping up the pole. I reccomend this to anyone who liked "The Naked Gun"- its hilarious!

One of Mel Brooks' patented hit or miss comedies. Some of the jokes are pretty good, like the jab at Kevin Costner, but others just fall flat. Being familiar will Brooks' style of directing will help a lot.

This is one of the greatest movies of all time, next to Wayne's World, Austin Powers and A Life Less Ordinary.

Mel Brooks is a wonderful director. He has directed some of the funniest movies ever made. But, when he directed Robin Hood: Men In Tights, his mind must have been somewhere else because it wasn't what I would call enterainment, or even funny.

Typical Mel Brooks but I enjoyed it. Ok to rent but wouldn't want to own it.

god, I don't know how many times I have seen this movie.

This one's pretty dang funny. I've seen it many times and it still makes me laugh. Some parts of it are hilariously funny. But at the same time when looking at the story as a whole it's a stinker. It's like scenes of sketch comedy all coming together to make the entire movie. Mel Brooks and Dave Shapell (sp?) are excellent.
