This is a good game except for the licenses. You must race on sixteen different tracks to earn each license. On Gran Turismo 3, you only have to race on eight different tracks to earn each license.
If you own GT3, you can transfer your licenses from GT3 to GT4 and the licenses won't have to be earned. But without GT3, the amount of races that you must drive on to earn licenses are too damn many. I give Gran Turismo 4 a 3 star rating.

Out of all my games this is my favorite

when i had this game i was completely and utterly satisfied . . .except for one thing . . .. there are 3 races in this game that actually take 24 hours ! ! ! Nurburgring, Le Mans and the other one. the best i could do on Nurburgring without cheating was 7:30. 1 lap ! ! ! now for me i figured it out more or less, that it's about 180 laps or so in a 24 hour period . . . i just didn't have the time. had the game beat except for those 3 races. i did once do a 1/4 mile drag in about .2 seconds at about 1500 MPH ! ! ! i love cheating ! ! ;-)

The best racer out there. Gives players the opportunity to race at a high-end competetive level. Unlike other racers (need for speed, etc..) GT4 gives players ultimate realism. Cars will not do somersaults and 2 kilometre long powerslides. A game intended for race enthusiasts, probably will not appeal to people who do not appreciate the hard work and dedication needed for becoming a professional racer. Many hours of fun to be had with this one, excellent graphics.

I just bought it. I still miss Ferrari and Lamborghini, but there are plenty of super cars here. Lovely graphics, excellent gameplay. A classic already.

Wow,excellent,easily the best racing game of all time. Unfortunately a lot of cars aren't included such as the Escalde and Mazda 3 but thats probably the only thing missing.
