The light is cool and so is the rechargeable. That is until you're on a long trip and the battery dies and there is no way to charge it.

For a portable game system, it's ok. I liked the original alot more.

If we are counting the SP as part of this, then it is portable gaming at its finest. Obviously the graphics are not great, but it is still great fun, and my GBA is still well used and I think it was a fine investment.
The only real downside is the extortionate price of some of the games, when compared to the (superior, yet cheaper) PC games.

Nintendo owns the handheld industry and here's one brilliant reason why. This great console is simply an amazing step forward in portable gaming and electronic technology. The processor is actually 32-bit (the same as Sony's Playstation 1) and can easily support 3D graphics. The design is clean and easy to use and comes in many bright and upbeat colors. The screen is clean and easy to see under most lighting conditions. The game library is simply amazing. You can purchase all of the classic Mario games from the past on here. The newest of the Pokemon series are here. Kirby. Zelda. Donkey Kong. And, yes, Sega's even produced the amazing Sonic Advance series. There are also new Pac-Man titles, Crash, Frogger, Spyro, and many more of gaming's best franchises. More titles are still on their way.

I bought the original GameBoy Advance a month before the SP came out. The SP looks great with the backlit screen... but the original one is very hard to use since the screen is so dark, and then when you try to get under a light to see it, the shiny, glass-like screen reflects all the light and you still can't see it. The SP is probably better, but it's obvious Nintendo knew this was a problem with the original GBA before they released it... they should have never released it while there were still problems with it. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one was because the graphics are pretty good and the game cartridges are small... but those are really the only redeeming qualities about this thing. It also causes cramps for anybody whose hands are bigger than a 5-year-olds. The games are way too expensive too! (about the same price as PS2 or XBOX games) Overall... it's just not worth the money.
