Little pink bags. Everywhere. Sometimes I enjoy going inside the little odds/ends shops because you never know what cheap deal you will find that day. But the smell is horrible. The markets with the raw fish smell so bad I have to hold my nose.

Although the best Chinese restaraunts are in the Sunset and Richmond districts, Chinatown is fun to walk through for the sights and smells. Visit the New Asia Gardens on Pacific Ave. for the best Dim Sum experience you'll ever have. They're open at 8:00 in the morning.

Love Chinatown. It's always very crowded but always interesting. Fruits, vegetables, etc. from the many outdoor markets are cheaper than regular supermarkets. I have lived within walking distance of Chinatown for years and consider it one of the best things about SF. Culturallly fascinating. They have a couple of good street fairs every year also.
