Not really. If you don't wanna wait, go for a matinee or wait until after opening weekend. Otherwise, bring a book, your PSP/GBA, or, if it's a fun crowd, bring a pack of cards and play poker with a bunch of strangers who are waiting with you (if you think it's weird, yeah, it is, but I've done it before, and no one's complained.)

This can be avoided....(buying tickets earlier or online) It's your fault if you choose to buy tickets before big showings and have to wait in line.
