Most movies today are a rehash of old stuff digested and puked back up by tools.

Too many movies (and TV Shows!) these days are UNORIGINAL! We need something new and different, people!

Generally, movie plots tend to all be the same- depending on the genre. The trick is how the plot is played out, the talent of the actors, and quality of the writing. Most movies that flop often have a plot not that much unlike movies that become legends...but flops just don't entertain audiences enough to justify the often costly expenses associated with attending a movie.

This completely depends. I love classic plots when done with style and with a smile. Some plots--saving the world, defeating evil, and more--are fine and I could enjoy them 10000 times over. However, the lack of originality that distresses me are not so much the plots (although some genres like stupid gang movies are way overdone) but the lack of originality within the movies themselves. Movie franchises like Star Trek, Star Wars, The Incredibles and others have extreme creativity dripping from every aspect--the sets, the uniforms, the computers, and even sometimes elements of the characters themselves. However, sadly, 90% of movies these days are figuartivly drowned in reality. No futuristic setting. No talking animals or plants. Not even a futuristic looking chair or flying car! I don't like it! And, how about some creative replacements for profanity like yolseing or holy moly roly poly! or even the Rescue Ranger stand-by of golly! More films need to get really imaginative and creative instead of being hyper-realistic!!

To some degree, that's to be expected. There are only so many ideas for stories out there. It's the execution of those ideas that make the difference. However, one time I sat through the previews, and EVERY SINGLE MOVIE previewed was a remake of something (except for Coach Carter, which I still argue looks like a cross of Dangerous Minds and The Mighty Ducks, which is close enough for me).
