That's what you get when you buy the jumbo-sized popcorn.

It's expensive, yes but I love movie popcorn. when my husband and I can go out for under 20 bucks, it's not a bad deal.

All theaters overcharge to a point where it looks like their throwing it in your face but considering the refreshments are where they make their money (afterall, not many people flock to watch movies that have been around for three months) it really doesn't surprise many. The obvious alternative is just to pick up whatever you want to eat prior to arriving at the theater and eating it once inside. If you're with a lot of people, that really is the only way to go because combined with ticket costs, you'll end up needing to take out a second loan the next time you go to the movies.

Yes, they do overcharge, but that's because many of us are willing to pay 5 dollars for a bottle of water.

Yeah, they do overcharge. But that's why I don't eat at the theater and have dinner before or after the movie.

You bet it is. That's why I ALWAYS go to the grocery store and get the candy and drinks before hand. They have signs all over the theatre that tell you that it's illegal or whatever. But that's bull. It should be illegal to charge $3.00 for bottle of fruit juice, and $5.00 for a small box of candy.

Candy prices are about 3 times the price in supermarkets or Convenience Stores.

Yeah, the prices are pretty ridiculous. I've found that if I smile real nice at the guy behind the counter, he'll sometimes give me a medium soda for the price of a small. Works with popcorn, too. Otherwise, I just try to find a way to sneak it in, but the purse I'm carrying now is too small for anything more than a candy bar.

It is pricey, I prefer to sneak in my refreshments. But they are pricey because that's where the theatre makes its money, they make very little off the ticket sales

The food and drink prices are outrageous. 5 dollars for a candy bar? 3 dollars for a small pop? These days I have to settle for a stick of gum as my theater refreshments.
