Yes. God forbid you should have to see a movie that doesn't worry about it's box office takings. Then again, Ashton Kutcher really makes thought-provoking films.

As horrible and uncultured as this may be, I like big budget films and movies that are in English. If I want culture, I'll go read a book, I don't want to get it from a moive. Movies are supposed to be fun, not enlightening. At least, that's how I feel.

I love indepndent and art house films. There are so few at movie theaters these days. Too much crap like The Pacifier shoved down our throats.

This annoys me as some of the best movies to come out are independents (Monster, Mystic River, Boys Don't Cry, Dogville, Shattered Glass) , art house (Whale Rider, Trainspotting) or even foreign (Life is Beautiful, Amelie, City of God, 8 Women). All studio insiders care about is making money from big budget films (Troy, Godzilla, Men in Black, Cold Mountain) from major studios and promoting small controversial films (farenheight 9/11) that will line their pockets, they don't give a damn about anything else. The only problem I find (speaking from a UK prespective) is the lack of availability of these films and they don't stay in the theatres for very long unless the film has been recognised for a major award. Classic examples are Monster with Charlize Theron that stayed in the cinema for months and also Monster's Ball if Halle Berry didn't win the award they were going to put it straight to video and somehow it managed to end up in Warner Village in the West End.
