It's not appropriate for children. It increases violence in our lives. It is also true what hellokitty said.

There's more to a movie than car crashs and big boobs.

I don't mind, it's the parents who insist on bring their kids with them to these films, that maks me upset.

These things are all part of the rich tapestry of existence that films are meant to convey. Yes, they're often used exploitatively, but they're also often wholly necessary to a film's narrative.

Pay attention to the rating system. If you don't like stuff like that, then don't go to rated R movies. Yeah, sometimes they'll go overboard, but you usually can get the idea whether or not a movie will be too offensive for you by their trailers.

Well, chances are that if I planned to see a particular movie ahead of time I probably already knew how much violence, sex, and profanity there is in a film to begin with. However, Hollywood certainly has a tendency to inject rather questionable content into PG & PG-13 films...often leaving parents with a a few uncomfortable questions to answer on the way home.

If I make a conscious decision to see a movie, and I know ahead of time what to expect, then there would be no reason to be annoyed. But I am annoyed when I'm caught off guard, and even more so when one of my kids is with me. I want it to be my decision. When it does happen unexpectedly, it's very annoying.

Nope. Violence, sex, and profanity all have their place in certain films. Films that don't show the consequences of violence are really ugly to me. . .

A very disturbing trend in movies indeed. What really gets me is the EXTREMELY excessive use of profanity. Some movies drop the f-bomb over 200 times? How in the WORLD is that realistic? And, how in the WORLD is that appealing? Gory violence is also distressing--I don't mind Power Rangers or Star Trek style action--but most gun fights and car chases lack originality and fist fights are totally stupid. Sex doesn't bother me that much--it's certaintly not as distressing as violence (and nudity with class is fine), but when it's done in a coarse, crude way like the still-useless American Pie movies, it is not appealing in the slightest. Where are the classy, G-rated movies that can appeal to adults anymore?

I go to a public high school, I see enough of that crap in real life. Movies should be an escape, not a reminder of what life is really like. I don't want to pay nine dollars to see stuff I can see for free six hours a day, five days a week.

Im not the only one who thinks so. During the presidential campaign of 2000 I read an article that told of Mr Gore making a speech where he said that there was too much nudity in mainstream entertainment. It went on to say that shortly after that Mr Bush gave a speech where he said that there was far too much violence in mainstream entertainment. The headline for the article about the speeches caught my eye when I saw in bold print a heading which read Entertainment: Bush says too much gore and Gore says too much bush.

I don't like violence in my movies but sex and profanity makes a film realistic and I like my movies to have a realistic feel to them.

It's your call on what movie to see and find out the information on the film.
