A few years ago, I got a chance to catch a few episodes of this program due to curiosity getting the best of me, and I wanted to see what it was like. As one can see by my rating, what I watched of it just didn't impress me. All I saw was a mother in her thirties who was concentrating more on "buddying" with her teenage daughter than being example to her as a mother should be. Yes, it's true that mothers and daughters (family members, in general) should love and support each other, and it's completely fine for them to relate to one another and have the same tastes in various things from music to clothes, and to have some of the same opinions about things. But that's an entirely different thing when an adult woman won't grow up and be an authority figure, putting the foot down as the need arises. Maybe other episodes were different, but the ones I saw were along these lines. There is much better-quality programming than this.

Engaging and emotionally smart. I miss it.
Gloomyeeyore 05/05/2007
I like this show, it is not as good as it was in the beginning. I think that it has had a good run.
Krypto 10/06/2006
Jumped the shark a couple seasons ago but still a brilliant and original show.
VeraCobb 09/01/2006
This was a really cool show until season six happened...
ungodlyugly 06/21/2006
NO ONE is that sharp and witty all the time.
Vudija 05/07/2006
So yea, the amount of one-liners is unrealistic, but it's still funny. Most shows aren't based on anything realistic anyway. Even "reality tv" is scripted, so who cares? Just let me enjoy my hilarious family drama in peace ;-)
edgar1 02/14/2006
hi how are you doing i saw your show yesterday it was sexy i also think youre pretty hot when you dance also when you go to the store and you ask for a milkshake it was pretty good.i think your show is really intresting.

Gilmore Girls is an excellent show. It is witty and quick and I love it because it doesn't have a laugh track. If you don't understand a reference or a comment made then it doesn't detract from the show and you aren't left feeling "hm, why wasn't I laughing like all those people in the studio?" It has changed a little the past couple of years but I think it has changed for the better. The storylines are a little more dramatic but the characters are older so I think it's fitting.

It's one of my regulars although I occasionally get a little too much of its ping-pong repartee. Normally that's the best part. I really like that Lorelai and Luke are together and hope it stays that way.
GenghisTheHun 10/21/2005
I get a kick out of Martha. This show makes her physically ill! I guess all women don't go gaga over this tripe.
rebelde406fan 10/19/2005
The show was great in its first couple of seasons and i loved the witty dialogue. But now it seems like the producers are trying to hard to be witty and funny that the some of the dialogue is starting to sound stupid. I used to like Rory's character, but now frankly, i find her annoying.
special4real 10/08/2005
I think that this is a great show. It's witty, and I always find myself smiling at the TV because of the things that they say. It has a lot of heart, and is really consistent, which is always a plus. I love all of the characters, but I have to take the time to spotlight Emily. She is so funny...especially when it comes to reprimanding Lorelei.
CountryChic 09/19/2005
this show helped me find out what's important in life. sometimes you don't need a great start to make your ending great and meaningful.

Miss_Perverse 06/22/2005
I enjoy watching this show. There's something about Lauren Graham. The writing is witty, and who cares if the dialogue isn't entirely realistic? Last I checked Star Wars wasn't getting any Based-on-a-True-Story awards. And some people love it.
sabasimba 06/12/2005
Not nearly as good as its fans would have you believe. Dialogue is far-fetched--NOBODY is that f***ing witty all the time...
shmeep 05/20/2005
I've always enjoyed a visit to Stars Hollow. Rory has become disappointing of late, the townies overdo it, and we never needed to see Kirk without his shirt, but Lorelai, Luke, Mama Kim, and Emily are enough to keep me in love with Gilmore Girls. This season was strong and I have high hopes for season six.
groggnicole 05/05/2005
I love the idea of a mother and daughter that are bestfriends and mom and daughter. and i love the stories too.
cara924 04/06/2005
This show is absoultley riveting! The charaters are so alive and real. I almost feel like I live in stars hollow. You feel like you can relate to the characters, and at the same time your a laughing at the witty dialog. One of the Best Shows on TV. Keep it up WB.

logan is perfect for rory.. i will watch there scenes over and over again! becuase there just soo entertaining
texasyankee 03/29/2005
I love this show.Only bad part about it is that they only show original episodes for about 2 months then it's repeats all the rest of the year.I still give it a 5 for what I do see is very good and entertaining.
lorelairockstv 02/27/2005
gilmore girls is awesome I love Loelai and Luke the best tv show ever anybody who says other you have to go through me
gilmoregirlfan 02/25/2005
Gilmore Girls is the total package. Drama, humor, family & love. You get all these emotions in one episode. Doesn't hurt that Lauren Graham is a fantastic actress who deserves more reconition than she gets. That rest of the cast is amazing to. Alexis Bledel is a breath of fresh air. Edward Hermann, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson are superb. You could not ask for a better show. Plus you never know which direction Amy (The creator) will take the story. If you want something worth watching, take a look at Gilmore Girls. Go ahead, turn off American Idol, I dare you. American Idol is the same outcome over and over again. Take a chance, Watch the Gilmore Girls, betcha get hooked.

End the freakin' WB and it's soapy goofiness.
LoneUSFullHous eFan 10/14/2004
This always looked so dorky in the comercials, but I have been watching the reruns on ABC Family, and it is actually rather comical. The Friday night dinner scenes have produced some of the best arguments I have ever seen (How do you mix up Anton and Sophia? What do you mean? Well, one is a man and one is a woman. What's your point? That one is a man and one is a woman. Frankly Laurelai, I don't have time to keep up with the multitudes of people that your mother hires. But one is a man and one is a woman.). The mother may be a little spacey at times, but the clutsy, somewhat eccentric hotel staff and the rest of the characters in what is in my opinion the quirkiest town in America more than make up for it.
winter_spirit 09/03/2004
The plot is a bit repetitive, with the same old story line of a mother with commitment issues, or hidden emotions for another character which causes a streak of failed relationships, and a daughter who is the surviving comfortably in the upper class life of Yale University, in which she was destined to attend since her birth (for a few episodes, Im sure viewers were at risk of heart attacks from the exciting debate between a girl attending Yale or Harvard), because she was born a bright and brilliant student from the moment she exited her mother's womb (and we see this in the episodes of her high school life, where we discover the thrills of high school politics yup, still wetting my pants with anticipation over that one). The characters seem inconsistent with their reactions to other characters, and the psychology behind their actions and dialogue isn't realistic (or perhaps it's poor acting... who knows?). The plot is horribly over-exaggerated, which may be a poor attempt to portray the small life in the town of Stars Hollow as a place ignorant of current events, inventions and such, which revolves around very local and insignificant issues. Instead, it focuses on the romance and relationships between the characters, which are just replayed in different scenes with different dialogue over and over and over and over again (different men, same story, or different event, same mother-daughter conflicts). It's getting a old how the script writers keep churning out past events. But if you're just interested in a show to relax with and enjoy the quick remarks of the sarcastic characters in the small town life which on occasion qualify for humorous, then you might actually enjoy this show for a few episodes.
Blooeyz2001 08/07/2004
I like this show & the two main characters. But they make these people speak way too fast. It's like they are trying to cram as much as they can into an hour. That Paris character is grating & looks like an old woman not a college kid.
Mad_Tv_Krazy 07/04/2004
It is a good show...considering it' on the WB! LOL!!! Just Kidding the WB is ok.
dOlL_PaRtS 06/20/2004
GG is my fave show, the writting is really clever, funny & dramatic , it has Everything!! i admit its not completly realistic at times but i think thats the idea... And about the show being boring...Its so not bopring it just requires a certain culture level :)
chinspins 06/10/2004
This show totally rocks!!!!! Its a complete event when there's a new episode. Anyone who would even consider this show being bad is insane!!! I would recommend this show to anyone who is looking for a show that will make then laugh and cry in the same hour.
maersk 05/18/2004
this show is evidence that the WB=sh*t
kolby1973 04/29/2004
Sometimes the girls talk way too much, but overall the show is very entertaining to me. I think it is great when any television show promotes family values, whether it be a single parent household or otherwise. This show represents that mothers and daughters can actually get along ! Going into next season is going to be quite the ride. Stay tuned !
Cage_rules 03/11/2004
Other than being very boring, the shows acting is the worst I have seen. They talk back and forth so quickly they might as well hold the scripts in their hands. cmon can we please be realistic? Have any of you had a conversation before? They do not sound like that. The plot never changes. Its always school this school that or my boyfriend this my boyfriend that blah blah blah boring. Not to mention that rory is 20 years old and her mom is probably 30 tops. So she had rory when she was 10? They are way too close in age. so annoying to watch. Tak some acting lessons ladies.

Gilmore Girls Is the bomb its my favorite show
micahan 12/21/2003
this is another great wb show laurelie is soo hot
Gypsygrl 12/10/2003
I like this show for its spot on alt. rock references and the quirkiness of the main characters. I dont find Gilmore Girls especially true to life, but then again I'm not sure that realism is something the writers are aiming for. Stars Hollow certainly seems like a fairy tale town and the residents almost caricatures. Lauren Graham is fantastic and headed for silver screen stardom.
Slapfish 11/19/2003
I REALLY REALLY REALLY HATE this show. When I hear their stupid voices delivering EVERY LINE in the same exact way every week and EVERY CHARACTER sounding exactly the same it makes me want to drive a blunt instrument through my brain to relieve the pain. This show is so horrible it defies description.
EVY827 11/17/2003
Love it.
penphreak 11/14/2003
Gilmore Girls just keeps the laughs coming. It's fun to just listen and see what is going to come out of their mouth! Quirky is definitely a good word for this show. Not the same old sitcom formula. I contnue to be entertained even though I have watched from the premiere.
Chessqueen 09/28/2003
What was the WB waiting for?! This is exactly what your public wants!...Exactly what I want - and everyone else I know, for that matter. GILMORE GIRLS is as refreshing as it is funny, serious, romantic and all of the above. Most of all, it is very realistic. Five stars is an understatement - - All of the actors and writers on this show deserve the highest praise - - I hope it outruns all of the top-running shows & breaks a record. I love every single episode starting with the first season >> My only request is: is is defenitely time to proceed with Luke & Lorelai's relationship. Thank You for having Luke seperated IMMEDIATELY after getting married - don't scare us like that again please.
NovyElf 09/22/2003
cute show

Wish I cared about any of these witty bitches.

Gilmore Girls has the best "Aww...moments!" Lauren & Alexis are great actresses. I love the wittiness of the two characters. I've been a fan since the 1st episode. It's an awesome show!
m1z9 05/14/2003
I've loved GG since its 1st season! The writing is so clever & humorous , it's a HOOT! Lauren Graham & Alexis Bledel have both been nominated for TAMPA AWARDS for Best Actress & Supporting Actress respectively. GG= A-
thearmbarkid 05/11/2003
BORING! No on-screen chemistry+no talent=a typical WB offering. *yawn* Perfect for the "Friends"-viewing, "American Idol"-following band of troglodytes. What happened to good, quality, thought-provoking television?
Lioness77 04/09/2003
It is very great show
