 | nst (0) 02/18/2004 | I did not know that lower nob hill is also referred to as the tender nob before I moved in. Now I am well aware why it is called that. From Geary south, this area is pretty shady, but North of about Sutter it is pretty nice. Be leery of places in lower nob hill--it's basically the tenderloin's slightly more livable neighbor.

 | Galomorro (0) 03/25/2002 | Good place to live and convenient to downtown and Polk St. shopping areas. I like hearing the cable cars. A lot of really cool old buildings. Good for scavengers -- people living in the small apartments, especially around Pine Street, often put their unwanted junk (books, clothes, etc.) out on the sidewalks for whoever wants it. There also tend to be a fair number of garage sales around here. The rents are far too expensive, however, and have not gone back down anywhere near what they should be.
