 | LanceRoxas (40) 10/20/2004 | It was a great thing and historical but you wouldn't get that from the news coverage. But hell liberals in the media and John Kerry would prefer Saddam still be in power so what should we expect? Iraqi citizens are dying everyday fighting for their freedom and independence but liberals here treat their fight with indignation.

 | bibliophile (10) 09/23/2004 | If the transfer had gone well, and real progress was being made, this would have been an asset. As it stands, it just provides further evidence that Iraq will likely have to be propped up with U.S. support for years, if not decades.

 | magellan (153) 07/08/2004 | I thought that this was nicely done, and it's important that GWB stuck to his word and hit the June 30 date. While in reality, not much changed with the transfer of power - no US troops came home, US appointees are in power - it's step one to giving the Iraqis their country back and bringing our soldiers home. Allawi (like Karzai in Afghanistan)seems tough as nails and undaunted by the almost impossible task facing him. Let's hope he manages to stay alive until the Iraqi elections.
