 | Djahuti (54) 09/19/2006 | One of my Grandpas died when I was only 2 or 3.The other one was a good man who had become bitterly prejudiced after his son (my uncle) got beat up in the 60s in a racial attack.(Ironically,my Uncle did not succumb to prejudism, even though HE was it's victim).I liked him a lot, even though he had become an Archie Bunker in his old age.He sure did like his women!(He was divorced when my Mom was still a child)He knew every Go-Go girl in town, the ol' rascal!

 | babaoreeally (13) 09/19/2006 | At his funeral the pastor called him a man who was closer to the definition of saint than any other man he'd known. I think that sums it up. Humble, hard-working, compassionate and honest.

 | zuchinibut (35) 01/31/2006 | I feel that members of my family have been very successful in their lives, and I don't feel that all of the things we have accomplished could have been possible without my grandfather. He was an incredibly hardworking person, who had high standards for himself and others. At the same time though he was an incredibly caring person, who loved life more than anything else.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 08/19/2005 | Gramps is well into his 90's by now and rivals any of my great professors I've had in my travels- Grandpa is Yoda, Buddha, and Pa Ingalls rolled into one. Well into my 30's, I still have no problem going into his bedroom while he's strumming his guitar and asking him for advice on a problem. (Any problem- personal, educational, financial, automotive. . .) Is he always right? No. . .but he's more right than wrong and I have on occasion paid the price for not heeding his advice. . . He's my rock and I can't conceptualize him dying. . .but I guess I'd better start. I hope I can be half the person he is.

 | Jar-Jar Binks (16) 02/15/2005 | I love Gramps. Lived in Yonkers. Everytime I visited him as a kid, he'd gimme one-hundred bucks cuz I was his favorite grandson. He told me his stories about his days in WWII. He died 5 years ago of leukemia.
