 | Kazdad (0) 06/28/2008 | Worst experience in renting a vehicle with Alamo. They can't distinguish between Alamo and sister company National. It took 3 1/2 months to get my billing correct.

 | bridog12 (0) 06/10/2007 | I rented from alamo in seattle and they were rude. They addeda all kinds of fees to my online reservation amongst other things I ended up having to pay 4 times what I was quoted online. I made another online reservation for denver and when i arrived at their station they informed very rudely that they did not accept my credit card yet online they did. I had to walk with luggage and all to hertz where they gladly rented me a car.

 | nroche (0) 02/05/2007 | Maybe I'm just lucky, but I had a good experience with Alamo in Orlando after having made a reservation with another company and ending up with no car (see Payless). After a very short wait in a rapidly moving line, the Alamo desk clerk gave me the small car I wanted, with no reservation, with the least pressure to buy insurance I've ever experienced, with NO upselling, and all communicated clearly and courteously. Had I wandered into some parallel universe? And it wasn't much more money than the el cheapo place that didn't treat me right, despite being on-airport.

 | gabyespinosa (0) 12/03/2006 | Bad experience when renting at Salt Lake City. They are now charging for damage to the vehicle that was not there when I rented it. Scammers!! I'm still fighting the extra charge.

 | SteveKaufman (0) 05/25/2006 | At Fort Lauderdale Fla. airport Alamo pressured me to take an upgrade to mid size and quoted $10.00/day extra. I accepted. My credit card statement arrived with a charge of three times that amount. Alamo says the applicable taxes and insurance increased the charge and they refuse to take any action.

 | SF.1 (0) 03/07/2006 | Don't even consider it, if there is any chance of changing your rental. The prices jump to 2-3 times of those quoted on the Alamo website. They take advantage of rushed travelers. The local or the Alamo headquarters will do nothing about it! Severe Gouging!
The Phoenix site is the worst!

 | rateitall6 (0) 02/02/2006 | Rented in summer 2005 from Maui's airport, online, with a discount code. Had the car for 10 days, so the rate was high, but good compared to other companies. The car was older, but in decent condition. No roaches as I have read by other renters in Hawaii. Car drove to Haleakela, so it did well. No complaints. Slow, but everything in HI is!!
Would rent from them again.
The Maui aiport rental requires a shuttle, but it's not too bad.

 | digitboy (0) 09/20/2005 | Never again!
Bad experiences coast-to-coast. Most notably in Vegas. Huge waits for dirty vehicles. Unkind employees.

 | boettcher (0) 08/23/2005 | I left a $1,500 camera in the car by accident and turned it in. 10 minutes later I realized my mistake. I called and they could not find it. I spoke to lost and found, the manager and the customer relations directer via e-mail since. The people that touch that car all have to initial it. They have never interviewed them to find out what happened. The camera was in the car and it was stolen by an Alamo employee.

 | reebies (0) 07/06/2005 | My in-laws rented an a-l-a-m-o twice...first: from Nash-
ville to Los Angeles, and back...second: from Nashville
to Florida Keys, and back. B-O-T-H were very good-to-great experiences. S-o, we rentedan a-l-a-m-o, also,
from Nashville to mid-South Carolina. This was a great
experience...new car (with only 800 miles on it)...great
service people at Nashville airport location...g-r-e-a-t
rate for four days...super gas mileage with a 6-cylinder.
We will rent an a-l-a-m-o, again...and, recommend this
to family and friends. A MOST WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE !!!!!

 | lacer (0) 02/17/2005 | I rented from Alamo in Las Vegas. It was horrible. The management was rude & we waited about an hour before we even got our rental car. The clerk at the desk was incompatent. I hated the entire experience!

 | Glenn408 (0) 08/28/2004 | They don't even deserve ONE star. I took a early flight from SJ to Las Vegas (6:30am!) and went to the Alamo car rental area and needed to wait 1 hour and 10 minutes before I finished the paperwork. They stated that they had changed to a new computer system. I would think that they would provide training and maybe roll it out during the week when it is slower rather than a Sunday morning?
When I dropped off the car, the gas needle was just off from the F indicator and the guy states go into the office, because they want to speak to you about charges. They charged me for 2 gallons at $4+ per gallon! The gas price in LV was $2 at the time. I'll never go to Alamo again even if someone paid for the car.

 | Marta M (0) 04/01/2004 | A simply terrible experience with a dirty car and the bus driver giving my bag to another passenger and Alamo refusing to send it to me in a safe, reliable way unless I pay.

 | edstate (0) 06/03/2002 | Overseas, you may as well rent from a random local company because the alamo name really brings nothing to the table. Do not, i repeat do not expect any help from alamo usa if you experience any problems internationally. the other companies all take responsibility... why not alamo? Sad.
