Had a car to be provided on June 13 as of June 14th still left without a car in an unfamiler town. Customer service 800 is absolutly no help as they can not get you a car only the office assigned per the reservation can do that. Ended up going to Avis who will be here in ten minutes to get me. They price matched with a nicer car even though this was not their service issue.

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE GUYS!!! unless you plan to do a 5 star quality inspection with them and run over the car with a fine toothed comb. Oh yeah, and don't forget to document the car with photos- the whole works. They will slam you for any minor detail wrong when the car is returned. I was a first time customer just renting a van for a routine job. I took care of the van to the best of my ability, and am 100% positive that I did nothing to the van while in my care. Upon returning the van, I was brought to the attention of a very minor ding in the front left panel. By "minor", I am talking about about the size of a dime, and no paint scratched at all! So now I am supposedly responsible for fixing this little ding. My bet is they are going to charge an exuberant amount for this ridiculous detail. It's a freaking Van, not a Mercedes! Yeah, maybe it was my mistake that I inspected the van casually and signed that 4 page paper with fine print that you'd need a lawyer to understand, but I have had a horrible first time buyer experience with this company. This company is a joke!!!

Rented a car in El Paso in late October. Got a great rate but wasn't until we turned the car in that I understood why. When we rented the car it was dark - around 9:00 pm. The desk clerk made sure I was aware that by declining their insurance that I was responsible for the car. This has never been a problem before so I agreed. Then he asked for my insurance company's name. Never been asked that before. Upon checking out the car we looked it over and found no damage. Upon returning it at around 7:00 am, still pretty dark, the attendant was pointing out dents on the roof before we were even able to get out of the car. Sure enough there were maybe three small dents in the roof. I am sure they were there before we got the car but did not notice them. I still wouldn't have noticed if the attendant had not pointed them out after driving it to a well lit part of the lot. She even remarked that they had a history of hail damage on the car before I rented it. Long story short, they have filed a claim with my insurance company which I expect I will have to honor, but I certainly feel like I was set up. I will never rent from Enterprise again and recommend that, if anyone else does, especially at El Paso,to be very leery. Check out that car with a fine tooth comb.

Too bad you can't put negative stars on this rating.
We came in to pick up a car and while another associate was showing a car parked next to our vehicle, the customer opened the door and dented my vehicle. I understand the company provides insurance to the customer, but if your associates do not care for other customer's vehicles parked on your lot, then I consider that negligence. The fact that damage is not a concern to your employees when it comes to enterprise vehicles, is not surprising since they know the corporation is paying for it. Why should it be a concern for the associate right? Well if the people at this business cared they would understand that the company is only loosing more money with this type of negligent behavior. I called to see who the associate was and was only greeted with a long hold followed by much sarcasm fom the manager named Teddy Mack. This was on November 8, 2007 @ 4:06PM. This company should understand that customers come to rent cars because they've been in accidents, not to have their vehicles damaged by their associates. Along with the damage, the information given to us by the manager about our rental was not correct. By trying to upgrade the rental, the same associate will only have it returned because the Chattsworth branch was nice enough to respond with correct information about our rental. This will be the last rental we have with this company, and especially at this branch where customer satisfaction is obviously not a priority. The two associates were a man named John, and the manager Teddy Mack. I will be sure to notify everyone I know not to rent from this company, but if they must they need to completely avoid the Northidge, CA branch.
Its unacceptable that people who are so inconsiderate are managers, and that this company's values have gone down so low with customer satisfaction at the bottom of priorities. It doesn't matter whether you own the car because in the end if you don't take care of your customers your business will go no where.
This company only cares to make money, and if your vehicle is damaged by other customers with associates right next to them, they can care less. They will give you the wrong information while trying to upgrade your rental so they can make money.

I have used Enterprise since 1999 and always took damage waiver every time I rented one of their car. I used it 10+ times in different states and never had a problem. They would upgrade my car at no charge when no compact cars were available. Compare to others rental companies I have used in the past, Enterprise is to me the best quality/price/service around.

Just make sure you can take it out of state if you plan on that.

I only gave Enterprise 1 star because there was no lower rating.
My car was hit and was in the shop. Rented a car through the other guy's insurance company. Enterprise had no car on the lot which was of comparable size to the one the insurance would pay for. They told me to take the compact car (supposed to get a standard size) and call in every few minutes or they would call me when they had a standard size car available for me. Six hours later I call in and they say they have a standard size car. I drive in to get the car. They told me it was there since the morning and they were waiting for me to call them to say I wanted it. So far as I know I'm not a mind reader. Anyway I find out the only reason I was getting the car was because the guy who they had given it during the morning didn't want it so I could have it.
Three days later they call to tell me the car I'm driving has been sold and they want me to take it in and get another car. I ask if they have another standard size car ready for me and they chat me up to believe they did. I go in at 9:00AM on the dot and they tell me they will give me an SUV. I tell them I don't want an SUV because I cannot afford to feed that kind of vehicle with gas prices at $3.50/gallon. So the rep tells me to drive about 5 miles to the other Enterprise because according to her computer they have another car of standard size available. I get there and an hour and a half later the rep gets to me after being with the customer who walked in right before me. I go out to the lot and he hands me the keys to a dirty, smelly, NASTY!!! Kia Spectra. I had to take it because there was nothing else. Apparently, that was the only car left on the whole lot...besides SUVs. I assume they're not taking my calls because before I stopped there on my way home I called and was put on hold for 8 minutes so I decided to stop in only to find them all patronizing me with the phone beeping off the hook and no customers in the office. She tells me in all her audacity that this car is a mid size car but if I was not satisfied she would call me as soon as anything else came in. (According to Edmunds.com, this car is a compact car). Please make sure you read this with all the attitude I was getting at this point. I get home and I have to take a shower because the car had left me smelling like a linebacker after the Super Bowl. The interior of the car was once gray but is now stained with I-refrain-from-guessing-what. I called them from home at about 12:00 and was told they had a car coming in so I asked them to drop it off because as you know they advertise that they drop off and pick up. The guy gave me attitude as if delivering and dropping off cars was not a description of his job. I only live 4 miles from their office. I called again at 2:00 pm and was put on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up. At 3:30pm I am going to call the insurance company to make them take care of getting me a car because at this point...3rd car in six days and all with me driving back and forth is quite enough. I will never recommend Enterprise to anyone and I will never rent a car from them again! Be warned, they make you feel like they care but when they actually have to take care of the problems they create themselves they make you fell like you're pestering them.

I rented an enterprise a couple of times and was almost not a problem. Whatever we have an accident (just once), or have a long-term car repair, they let rent equal size of the car we have without a charge. Just is that renting off airport was not a great idea since the car is somewhat dirty and smelled like smoke once with a Pontiac Grand Am. Chevolet Malibu was the one they rented me after a car accident (was OK). Of my Toyota Camry in the accident was trashed. So, Chevolet Malibu was kept for more than a month and no charge as the insurance paid for it and was OK (That time I rented after the accident in Houston on the day Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and during Hurricane Rita). I still think renting the airport is good idea if you get the chance to rent enterprise again.

I rented a car on thursday for 2 days at Enterprise in Parsippany, NJ. I came to pick up the car at about 11:30 the rep took such a long time that I got the car finally at around 12:50. When I came to return the car on Saturday I found out that the location was already closed at 12:00 so parked the car in the designated are and dropped the key in the key drop box. Later I was shocked to see that Enterprise has charged my credit card for 5 days of rental. When I called them to correct this . They simply refused to refund any amount to me. It was horrible experience I don't think I will ever go back to Enterprise.

(For all those reviewing Enterprise and complaining about being charged for repairs... try getting the Damage Waiver. It may sound like a lot but just start figuring it into the cost of the rental because these companies are out to make money. They are a business after all. I'd say that the $22.99 a day is much easier on the wallet than a $500 to $1000 bill later.)
We rented from Enterprise the last time we went to Orlando, FL. They were fantastic!! Even gave us a free upgrade from a Jeep Grand Cherokee to a Ford Expidition. Nice. Customer service was outstanding and fast. Would absolutely rent from them again.

Enterprise is BIG on appearances. They are VERY friendly and appear to be customer oriented. That is the exact opposite of the fact. They want to make you THINK that the customer is #1, but the fact is, as with most companies, the $$$$$ is #1. They will scam you any way they can, and smile at you the entire time. Yes, they are VERY good at finding the little dents and dings when you return the car. And if you didn't opt for their VERY expensive damage waivers ( usually over $30 a day in addition to the rental rate ), you are about to be out MAJOR bucks. Beware...the locations away from the major airports seldom have the car you want in stock. Even if you reserve the car in advance, don't count on it actually being there when you go to pick it up. Be prepared to be "upsold" when you arrive.

I used Enterprise when my car was in the shop and I found their customer service to be great, and the price was reasonable. While I had the rental, a stray cat climbed under my hood, and got stuck in the fan belt. I had to call animal control and eventually had to cut the belt. Enterprise had no problem picking up the expense of having the belt replaced, which was a nice relief. However, I don't think the cat was feeling too good for the few remaining hours of its life.

Although I enjoyed their reasonable prices on a couple of occasions, this hasn't made it worthwhile getting charged for damage that appeared after I returned the car to their secure car park. Damage I wasn't informed about until 30 hours after the branch opened, and damage I have been unable to see to document on threat of being billed for time out of service!

I've rented from Enterprise several times. Every time I've rented from them, I've received exceptionally friendly service. The rates have always been reasonable, if not downright cheap. The last time I rented at DFW airport, I received a free upgrade at the counter without a coupon or requesting one. I don't plan on using another rental car company.

I rented a car from Enterprise couple of weeks ago. While driving on the Expressway I had a flat tire, Ok this could happen to anyone, I go open the trunk the was no spare tire!!!. Ok I guess someone made an honest mistake. I called there so called 24 hour road side assistance for which I had to pay for and never got the promised refund. I had to wait 1:45 min for the towing truck to get to me. and now the worst part they send me a $400 bill stating there was a dent on the door(which was never there at least before it got towed). I hope my experience will stop you from renting from these rip-offs.

Enterprise is excellent. I will only rent from them because of their wonderful customer service! They are always very polite and seem to go the extra mile for me. Everyone else with their negative comments are themselves the "problem" not the company, I'm sure!

I used them while my car was in for repairs. They nailed me for several hundred for a minor scratch on the vehicle. They also had problems doing the paper work that took several hours to straighten up. I'm taking a taxi next time.

On the three occasions we've rented from the local Enterprise (in Brooklyn, NY), the service has always been good, the price competitive, and the experience generally satisfactory. But the cars were real junk -- noisy, cheap, unpleasant to drive, not inspiring confidence.

I have had terrible experiences with Enterprise, who rents cars through all the local car dealers when you are having body work done. They always give you a car with a little tiny dent that you probably won't notice, and then try to browbeat you into paying several hundred dollars to fix it when you bring the car back. I managed to cut the amount in half by sheer stubbornness and then gave up and paid it -- but I would rather walk than do business with them again!

I'll never use Enterprise again. Last time I picked up a car from Enterprise I drove it 1/2 mile and had to pull over because of a flat tire. Enterprise informed me it was my responsibility to repair or replace the despite the fact that it was most likey damaged before I left the lot.
