I smelled sewage once, not the raw stuff, but pretty stinky.

I've never had a problem with sewage back up in my homes, thankfully. But in my town, there are three homes right next to each other that have had sewage over take their basements every time it rains. I feel so sorry for them because the town is just giving them the run around. Bottom line- sewage really does stink!

Now if you have to live in a complex where the sewage backs up constantly (when I was a kid there was an apt complex whose sewage always backed up) it was the worse smell ever even worse than sulfur.
