He's now paying a price that will probably haunt him all the way to the grave, the fact that despite his accomplishments he will rightly or wrongly be remembered most as a cheater. But aside from the fact that he's got absolutely zero PR savvy he's really no worse than a large number of players in the game. And while he has been under such a cloud, until recently, owners and fans have been willing to pay to go see the ball fly over the fence.

Steroid bloated millionaire. he thinks he's bigger than the game. As far as I'm concerned he's a walking talking asterisk. He has embarrassed major league baseball. Does anybody really like this sports figure?

Steroid junkie. Lies about it. When I score Giants games I put Mays in Barry's spot as I never got to see him play and know he would have been as impressive as Bonds WITHOUT CHEATING.

I had to think for awhile of where to put him. It's not just that he's arrogent, that label can be put on a lot of athletes. It's the fact that he is such a whine bag about the media. If the media lef thim alone, he'd complain that he wasn't getting the attention he deserved. I put him at a four because the steroid use is still technically an accusation. If it's ever proven, it becomes a five.

His personal conduct is shameful, particularly how he deals with (AKA whines at/about) the press. But what rule has he broken, what proof is there that any rule (none has existed) was violated? This is what happens when you have an empty suit in the commisioner's chair. This should have been addressed years ago. A commissioner whose job description includes the good of the game should have fought the owners (and the players' union, good luck) tooth and nail to institute a steroid policy when most knowledgeable fans began chuckling about how rampant steroid use was. (Does the name Brady Anderson ring a bell?) Think what you want but his records stand. And if he breaks Babe Ruth's and/or Hank Aaron's record, he'll take enormous criticism where Major League Baseball, the most cowardly organization in professional sports deserves the true enmity of paying and non-paying customers, the most forgiving disenfranchised fans in the world. They don't know who to be disgusted with so they direct their venom at Bonds. He's not the main problem, just the primary example.
