He had the personality of a mean customs agent but the numbers don't lie- points, rebounds, and championships. Proof that bad guys can finish first. The skyhook was indefensible in its day.

Kareem is a WINNER! Three NCAA National Championships in which he was the Outstanding Player three times, two College Player of the Year awards. Six MVP's of the NBA, Six time member of a World Championship team,Twice an MVP of the NBA Finals. Most remarkable has to be in 1985 finals against Boston in game one Robert Parrish beat Jabbar up and down the court as the Celtics romped 148-114 in what is now known as the Boston Massacre, but in four of the next five games the Lakers blitz Boston led by Abdul-Jabbar. Game two had Jabbar scoring 30 pts 17 rebounds 8 assist and three blocked shots. In the four Laker victories The Captain Averaged 30.2 pts 11.3 rebs 6.5 asst and three blocks and at age 38 took home the NBA Finals MVP! A great feat when you consider all the Hall of Famers on the floor:Larry Bird,Magic Johnson,Kevin McHale,Robert Parrish, James Worthy.Anothe note Kareem was not someone to mess with on the court just ask Kurt Benson!

He was sweet. Watched many of his games. Nothing could stop his trademark sky-hook.
