Now you see why PS2s and X-boxs cost more than the gamecube.

Although this would be a nifty little feature to have, the negatives would far outweigh the positives in this case. First off, it would add to the cost of the console. Secondly, most people already own CD players and DVD players, so that would mean it would not truly be a great selling point.
