Neither as bad as their detractors claim nor as good as their fans proclaim.
However, considering the competition, they must be rated among the best of relatively new bands.

I like this band, ok lets say one of my favorit bands. Best ever no way but a Great band with a great live sound.

The trouble with a band like Green Day is that they tend to turn off as many rock fans as they please. This is a good and a bad thing. This is good because Green Day, along with traditional rock frontman Billy Joe Armstrong, are by far one of modern rock's bravest and riskiest groups. This is bad because some of their recent material, especially from the over-acclaimed "American Idiot," is incredibly offensive, alienating and even emo-supportive. Nevertheless, Green Day is a great punk band and deserves the big sellers.

I dont like this band as their music is very basic and has no depth or taste... Most of their songs consist of about three power chords and lots of studio effects..

Green day is alright. Their music does not interest me, I might listen to some of their old music on the album "dookie" but if it wasn't for that cd which had some AVERAGE songs I would only give them 1 star.

I stopped really liking Greenday after Nimrod. Warning, Shenanigans, and American all are awful records in my opinion. My favorite is Kerplunk! from 1992. As much as I complain, I have tickets to the August performance here in Houston
