However much fun the Darkness are, and however good their music is, it is a sad time indeed to live in where the Darkness are by an immense distance, the best modern band around.

Went to see them live at Nottingham Arena and left feeling left down, they gave a half hearted performance and Justin even forgot the words to one of the songs. The latest album One Way Ticket.... is also a let down, they sound/look more like 'Spinal Tap' every day1

The Darkness suck. I had heard all sorts of talk of them so I decided to give them a chance. They suck. They sound kind of like Foreigner, but worse somehow. At least two members of the band look exactly like Peter Franpton circa 1977, which shouldn't matter but nevertheless it does in these circumstances. I can appreciate sincerity in musical artists, but the sheer annoying awfulness of the music negates any points they might have earned for earnestness. Overrated band, mostly by people who obviously aren't familiar with the wealth of more talented, less annoying bands in existence.

I can listen to them for awhile, but I don't really like them. They're TOO CAMPY OR GOOFY. I guess I'm a cynical asshole, becasue I don't like The Darkness.

HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE TOP 10 BEST ROCK BANDS OF THE PAST 15 YEARS. THESE GUYS MAY SEEM TOO CAMPY OR GOOFY TO CYNICAL ASSHOLES OUT THERE TODAY, BUT THAT RETRO THING IS PART OF THEIR CHARM. THESE DUDES ARE RESTORING ROCK'S BRAVADO AND FUN LOVING ATTITUDE THAT SO MANY ALMOST DESTROYED. MORE THAN THAT THEY GENUINELY ROCK WHILE DOING IT!! MAY THE GODS OF ROCK SMILE ON THE DARKNESS!
