The Days Inn in Panama City Beach, FL and Attala, AL are very good. But the one in Paducah, KY is one of the worst. Dirty rooms-they've got them! Deadbolt locks that don't quite lock-they"ve got those too, at least in room 122. But the worst part of our stay was on our 4th day there. We left our room about 11:30am. Around 1:30pm my husband returned to pick up something and found our door wide open. The laundry room and the staff's outdoor break area was just a few doors down and since he saw a few of the maids sitting there he assumed the door was open for cleaning and informed them and the front desk that he would hold them accountable if anything went missing. Front desk said they would take care of it. We returned that night around 1:30am to find the door still wide open, the do not disturb sign wedged behind the room number, the room had not been made up at all and thankfully, all of our belongings were still there. We then went to the night clerk who of course couldn't do anything except give us the name of the manager and her and the owner's times of arrival the next day. The next day when we went to check out the manager told us that we were the ones who left the door open. We said we didn't think so, but if we did then the maid should have closed it when she was done if she had cleaned our room. She said the room wasn't cleaned because of the do not disturb sign. We said we had put it out 2 days ago but not on that day and we would have put it on the knob. We then said that someone should have seen and closed the door on their way to the laundry and break area and she said well the maid was upstairs then. When we said it didn't matter, she said she talked to the maid and knew her to be truthful. With this implication that we were lying, I raised my voice to say again, "That doesn't matter." The woman with gray hair (the owner?) talking on the phone, slammed down the phone, pointed her finger at me and yelled "If you don't stop I'm calling the police." At this point since I had seen a police car right outside their lobby door inspecting some truck, I walked out saying "Why bother, they're already here." I then went and sat in my car fuming with anger and indignation until my husband came out and told me the manager said she was taking $5 a night off of our bill for the inconvenience. A grand total of $20 bucks. Considering we were in Paducah visiting my sister who just moved there and whom I will be visiting in the future they just lost any further business of mine. I suggest that people stay away from this Days Inn.

Fine If stay less then 12 Hours other wise not good. Room appliances did not look good. Bed unconformable. Staff unhelpful to find places.

The quality of the Days Inn depends on which one you stay at. I've had them good and horrible. I hesitated when making reservations at the one in Hyannis but it was nice and the staff was really helpful about where to eat and how to get places. Don't miss Spanky's Crab Shack or Barbianne's two great recommendations I got from them. Avoid the one in Alcoa TN near the airport, it's a dump. The one off I75 at Merchants Rd. in Knoxville has been renovated and has a HUGE indoor pool. Great for kids.

Good enough when you want a quick overnight, and on a budget. Good if you just need a bed and are not going to spend a lot of time there.

stayed in Newark, N.J. Days Inn., bathroom was filthy. had manager, Megaly, come in with me to look at it. She looked me straight in eye and said "this is not acceptable. It is filthy" then according to manager wrote a note for him that it was not. Also lied about time it takes to get to NY they say when you call about 25 minutes but dont say their shuttle to the airport to get monorail to get to train (also don't tell you about those costs and waiting times) takes according to manager on phone up to 45 minutes. So much for about 25 for whole trip. actually took an hur in one direction and over an hour back to where I almost missed my NYC meeting relying on their times. The desk staff was discourteous. The guarantee of fixing things or get a partial refund was ignored at the time. when called I was asked what I thought I should get back. It is up to the hotel to honor the guarantee and show by what they offer back that they indeed do take customer concerns and complaints seriously. This hotel was, by the statement of a fellow travelor that day filthy in more than 1 room as he said his was also. The manager, Michael Priore, told me that others "higher than I" look at all the rooms in inspection and they say they're clean: that in fact the hotel has won awards. When I scoffed at that he became very angry and defensive. This hotel was not well served by whom they have chosen to speak for them. It actually deserves no stars.

I have been in great ones and not so great ones. They are sometimes worth the money and sometimes overpriced depending on location. Do your research on these.

Have stayed twice at the Hyannis, MA location on Cape Cod and I've been very satisfied with both stays. Rooms are clean, beds are actually quite comfortable, and they have a free 24 hour coffee and continental breakfast in the morning. Most important, rates are very reasonable, especially during the VERY BUSY summer months. A bargain compared to some other places that will rip you off because it's the summer season.

I think the consensus is they are VERY INCONSISTANT. I agree. I have stayed at very nice ones and some rather grim ones as well. I suggest you check out the place before taking the room if possible. Word to the wise......... don't stay at the Day's in Marion, NC or Morganton, NC. Total ratholes. (The one in Marion was quite nice until ownership changed recently)

They're OK, nothing special, but I don't think they're terrible.

Mediocre. Nothing special but at least there aren't any vermin.

Days Inn is very inconsistant on quality. I stayed at Days Inn's that were very nice and comfertable and others which have been just as bad as a mismanaged mom and pop. One Days Inn in Denver, Colorado was so bad that you could not a shower and had to take a bath.

I've never had a bad experience with them, and have stayed in many locations. Good prices, clean, quiet rooms, and usually friendly staff. Even their DayStops (the budget versions, usually connected to a truck stop) are good.

I have stayed at Days Inn several times and have never been happy with them. Last week (late May 2004) I had no choice since this was the last place with a vacancy. This foreign owned dump charged us nearly $100 for a single room. The room wasn't very clean and the advertised breakfast buffet turned out to be a tray of stale sweetrolls and donuts and a pile of poor quality apples and oranges. As soon as a room was available elsewhere I moved into a practically new Hampton Inn that had clean rooms and a good breakfast. The room rate was almost half. The best words to describe Days Inn are THIRD WORLD.

Days Inn in Orlando was the ABSOLUTE WORST ****hole of hotel - I mean we thought we were on a candid camera show. Gun in the carpeting - soiled towels upon checkin, pubic hairs all over the bathroom upon checkin, used soap in the soap tray upon checkin, keys to door didnt work, airconditioning did not work, no knob on TV and the List goes on!! To top it off the hotel manager did NOTHING.. I know tell everyone I know to NEVER got to any Days INN EVER!!

horrible places, overall....I generally have refused to stay there on arrival. Toledo' si the worst..sleeping in their parking lot would be more appealing than entering the room Toronto's downtown days Inn is an exception...wonderful place, at a GREAT price.

Pretty Nice Stay!

So many properties with sticky carpet. Hum. Not very pleasant. Are they all owned by Asian Indians? Seems like they are and they just don't take care of the motels or their guests.

Inconsistant. I have stayed in nice Days Inn (Pueblo, CO, Colorado Springs) and TERRIBLE ones (Walsenburg, CO)

They have great service and that should be the top priority of any hotel.

Cheap, clean, consistent - one of my favorite budget hotels.
