 | irishgit (138) 04/03/2007 | My experiences, which have all been on business, have been uniformly above average to good. I've never seen anything I'd rave about, but I've never called room service for the fumigators either. Maybe a touch over-priced, but since I'm usually on account or billing the client, it isn't a big deal with me.

 | Mr.Political (18) 11/13/2004 | As a resort hotel, they're excellent. The quality of service and overall environment is very pleasant. However, their business hotels could use a lot of improvement!

 | The Legend (0) 07/21/2004 | I've noted some variability in quality from one location to the next, which probably accounts for some of the differences in opinion listed. The Hyatt Regency Kaanapali Beach was fantastic, but it's a resort hotel. The one one in downtown Phoenix was much less impressive. The location at the Orlando Airport is also not as nice. But if you consider it for what it is, subject to the limitations of being an Airport location, then it's still pretty darn well done.

 | sltlyamusd (0) 04/26/2004 | Hyatt has the best customer service of any major hotel chain and Gold Passport is the best rewards program.

 | Sundiszno (30) 03/31/2004 | My experience with Hyatt was limited to a stay at what was then the Hyatt Atrium in Budapest (since taken over by a French hotel chain within the past couple of years). The hotel itself was excellent (nice view of the Danube, spacious, comfortable room), and service was good. It was pretty pricey, however, and breakfast was way overpriced for what you eneded up getting.

 | procritic (0) 09/08/2003 | Hyatt is an outstanding Hotel/Resort chain! Nearly every Hyatt I have stayed at I have checked out 100% Satisfied! I highly recommend Hyatt for all kinds of travelers from vacationing families to buisness travelers! The best of the best this chain can get to is the Hyatt Regency! My favorite Hyatt Hotel/Resort was the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress! This resort was spectacular! I highly recommend Hyatt Hotels/Resorts! You can checkout thier site at www.hyatt.com

 | cybermac (0) 08/08/2003 | Recently we stayed at Hyatt, Fair Lakes, Fairfax, VA . Even thoygh we had a confirmed email rservation in hand,we still had a 20 minute wait at front desk while they sorted out the reservation in their computer. We found the main restaturant to be pricey ($15 per person for breakfast). Housekeeping didn't show up until late afternoon to straighten room. Although hotel advertises complimentary shuttle to closest Metro (6 miles), we waited 30 minutes for someone to leave the front desk to drive the van. Although amenities and surroundings were pleasant, not having a car during our stay was certainly a detraction. There's no Hotel shuttle to the closest airport (Dulles) and any transportation, other than the hit or mis hotel van, is on your own wallet. The highly touted Hyatt room TV check out failed to work. In general, most of the front desk personnel were not very courteous or helpful. Overall, not as good as previous stays in other Hyatt's.

hyatt is awesome!!!
We went here for a competition for BPA (Buisness Professionals of America) so I can not rate the check in or dealing with the staff...
We got in right away considering previous yers you had to wait till 3 for this kind of event.
The hotel is very nice but they only had 4 elevators for 20 floors(and 3 floors of nothing but concrete and the elevator skipped floor 13 and another).
the rooms were average for a hotel and had the same features most do. (coffee maker, etc) the room also had 2 phones. The room was not decorated very fancy and had modern artwork on the walls.
also the room had a good shower head.
as some of you requested, I can not rate the service of the hotel. I can however rate the service of the resteraunts, which ranged from good to average. the travel store was great! they had purses there for 3.99!!! which was a good deal considering most of the stuff there was really expensive! but the American Hambuger place took too long (10 min) to just give me french fries! But Subway was fast!
The pool was the size of my family room!!!!! 20 x 36 ft. way smaller than the Amerihost Inn!
They even charge for calling 1.800 numbers on your room phone!
Papa jhons was not very good at thier deals. They had the 9 buck deal(large 1 topping) with free cheese sticks but they wanted to charges us 16 for making it supreme!!!!
But the guy who delivered it was ok...
Be careful! Most places will not deliver to the Hyatt!!
So then,
we went to the weight room after running up and down 24 flights of stairs! and the wieght room was pretty well equipped but the excersize bikes would not stay on.
At the dance and they played the music way too loud!!!
We were only in there for 20 min.....
Too much midrange
And then i took my shower ( the shower heads were really good better than the one in my house)and i went to bed....
Tehn in the morning we heded out and we went to a theater and the cerinomny began and the picture of me kissing nick with the purse was on the big screeen opening!!! only 2 form out school made it to the top 10 daniel -> computer troubleshooting kristen/shawn -> webpage design
so we left disapointed!!!!
Grrrrr!!!
Oh well
aweeome expeeerince for me!!!

 | vtechgroup (0) 03/05/2003 | On November 17, 2001 Marc and I were lucky enough to get married in beautiful Newport, RI. It was a dream come true. We chose the Hyatt on Goat Island because of the exceptional service that the Hyatt supposedly extends to its guests and also the room with the beautiful ocean view. Unfortunately the Hyatt’s service during the planning of and the actual wedding and ceremony was not the outstanding service they boast. Some of our sources of irritation were; our contact was changed without notice and we had to reiterate our entire wedding to someone new, as they apparently had no record of what we ordered only a month or so prior to the wedding. I was told they would book spa time for my mother and myself. It was never booked and we were forced to go off the property on the wedding day for those services. We wanted to book a brunch the following day and not only were the advertised prices they gave us $3.00 per person less than what they quoted us and made no mention of a room charge which they were going to charge us. Alas, they did not see fit to return our calls regarding booking this brunch and we had to make other arrangements. They charged us for “complimentary” sandwiches ($40.00) and could not control the lighting in the room during the reception. All and all these were not big issues and we happily went on our honeymoon and began our life together.
To our surprise, one month later, we receive a bill from the Hyatt in the amount of $5.00 for an easel that we had our pictures on for guests to sign. We called our contact at the Hyatt and she told us not to worry about that charge, that it would be removed and it was a mistake.
Two days after speaking with our contact we receive a Hyatt Envelope and enclosed is our ORIGIONAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE. No note or explanation is enclosed, just the original marriage certificate. We first call our Reverend Bonnie Goodwin and ask her if she may have left the certificate in her room. She said there is no chance of that at all. When the ceremony was completed, she asked the front desk where to purchase stamps and how to get to the post office. They front desk told her to purchase stamps in the gift shop and that they would be sure to mail the envelope to the Town Hall so there would be no errors. We called the Hyatt to see why this happened. Our contact told us that she found it in a pile on her desk and it sat there for a WEEK OR TWO and then she did not know what else to do with it so she mailed it to us!
Soon after this, my husband receives a collection call and letter for the $5.00 that was supposedly taken care of! At this point we called the General Manager and expressed our extreme disappointment with the turn of events. Mr. Delaney was less than sympathetic. He had an excuse for just about everything. He even argued with me about the sandwich charge (until I proved it) and told me that the Post Office returned the marriage certificate to the hotel and that is why they had it. I am sure it will interest the Newport Post Office to know they Hyatt does not believe they know their way to the town hall.
When Mr. Tom Delaney spoke to my husband, he apologized and mailed us a letter apologizing and offering us two nights stay, two breakfasts and two 50 minute spa treatments.
My husband is an Executive Chef in a busy restaurant/function facility and I own a small business, we did not have a lot of time to get away. When we decided in February to take advantage of this Gift Certificate, we were again surprised to see it had expired.
My husband called the Hyatt and spoke to Ms. Diane DeFazio. He faxed her a copy of the Gift Certificate and she told him that she could possibly get it extended and then asked when we would like to stay. Our first choice was booked so we went with our second choice of dates.
Ms. DeFazio never actually called us back to confirm, instead she faxed us a handwritten note that was on our fax coversheet addressed to her, which accompanied the copy of the Gift Certificate. It simply said you are all set for March 2 & 3 with the confirmation number. No mention of Spa treatments, breakfast or anything else. We disposed of the expired gift certificate.
Sadly we had to attend a wake for a family friend who perished in the Nightclub Fire and were not in good spirits, but looking forward to a short getaway. Upon checking into the Hyatt, the extremely rude woman at the front desk acted as if it were painful for her to check us in. She asked for the gift certificate several times, we repeatedly told her of the situation and about our fax from Ms. DeFazio with confirmation number. We asked her if it would be a problem that we did not have it. She said, “we’ll just see about that tomorrow”, gave us our key.
Later that evening we went to their lounge the Auld Mug that was grossly understaffed. After sitting at the only free table that was covered in big blobs of food and debris for over 15 minutes with not one server coming to the table, we left and went to the Brick Alley Pub.
9:00 am the next morning we receive a phone call from Mr. Tom Delaney stating he had a copy of our Gift Certificate in front of him, however, if we do not “surrender” the gift certificate by the end of the week, we would be charged for our stay! When we explained about the fax from Diane DeFazio, we were told that did not matter that we should have brought it. We did not receive breakfast or spa treatments by the way either. At this point our weekend was more than ruined. The goodwill we were trying to feel for the place we were wed was crushed. We did not feel reminiscent of our beautiful wedding nor did we feel rested or at ease. We frankly could not wait to get out of Newport. The Hyatt made us feel like freeloaders and cheapskates. We checked out of the Hyatt on Goat Island at 11:00 am on March 3, 2003 and will NEVER return. In fact I would never stay at another Hyatt anywhere, I have given them enough money.
We did have lunch at the Brick Alley Pub after checking out. Good for the owners of the Brick Alley Pub for having such outstanding employees. Our server/bartender was more than kind. She made several phone calls trying to find us another hotel to stay at and went above and beyond for us. She has worked there 16 years and though we don’t know her name, we extend our greatest appreciation and thanks. She may be the only reason we ever return to Newport.

 | Vodkaboy (0) 01/12/2003 | Only been to Hyatts in Central Asia. Some better than others, generally pretty good, but the Frequest Guest programme doesn't really offer a lot, even to Platinum card members.

 | Par75 (0) 11/28/2002 | I've stayed in only a few Hyatt Hotels and, based on limited experience, I think they're overrated. For a supposed top tier hotel chain their rooms are average and the service is only fair to poor.

 | artbuf (0) 10/04/2001 | I just stayed at the Hyatt -Embarcadero in SF, CA. I was a business class customer. The room was adequately sized for a single occupant...It would be a little tight for two. The provided breakfast was good, but could use a little variety in the fruit (bananas and cantaloupe get kinda mundane after 3 days). The concierge could use a laptop logged into RateItAll to provide suggestions...he obviously is not capable of doing so on his own. The staff was courteous and helpful...we especially enjoyed the Limo ride back to the airport!!!

 | stef9539et (0) 08/09/2000 | Hyatt hotels are consistent in quality and service. The rooms generally have business commodities such as a coffee maker and an iron, but they also have recreational facilities such as a gym.
