Orator?? Yeah, if he can read from his two Americas, son of a millworker script. If he can't bray on either of those two points, he's totally worthless. His performance in the Dem primary debates was terrible when he was called upon to think on his feet. He is the biggest empty suit I have ever seen. Kerry deserves him.

John Edwards never was interested in North Carolina. He used one term in the senate as a resume-builder for the presidency; which I find inadequate. The Vice Presidency will be his prerequisite to the presidency in perhaps 8 more years, and once president, he'll use that as a footing to take over the world!! John Edwards for Emperor, 2020.

Edwards is an excellent speaker; very engaging and charismatic. However he has a reputation as a lightweight to no small part because of his almost poetic oratory. I think that the criticism is justified, he seems to have knowledge about a wide variety of things but it doesn't go very deep. He inspires, but, in the words of that old Wendy's commercial where's the beef? He is a quick learner however and is fairly intelligent; he had a winning record as a trial lawyer. My main concern is that he doesn't have any executive experience, so if he ends up in the White House, he might run a haphazard operation. But this is all mere speculation of course. Overall Edwards oratorical style is very pleasant, even when he's going after his political opponents; this is what makes him so effective on the stump.

I am a Republican, and a pretty strong one, so you should know that there is no bias when I say that John Edwards is a powerfull and good orator, as any trial lawyer ought to be.
