There was a story that his staff wanted to incorporate "fireside chats" into his campaign in the manner Franklin Roosevelt used to. They had to give up on the idea, because every time he spoke the fire would go out.

Not a bad orator, but I just giggle when he starts making serious speeches because all I can think of is one of the Munchkins from the Merry Land of Oz. . .

I actually have a good deal of respect for Lieberman; but I have to agree with irishgit here. With apologies to the Queen's English, he ain't no speech maker.
